Twinkle Twinkle

Afternoon everyone.  Boy am I on a role with Christmas cards.  My card today came about by accident.  I had actually picked the pattern on the other side of the paper.  It had penguins on it and was looking to do a card for a child.  I just happened to flip it over and the vision came to me.  I did use the penguins, but I much prefer this one.

Sometimes the simple sketches are the most fun to do.  I even had got to use my cuttlebug to cut out the snowflakes and eight black stars.

CHALLENGES
Freshly Made Sketches - #113
Creative Knockouts - #12 snowflakes
DRS - #97 star spangled Christmas - create using either red, white and blue and/or use stars
Casual Fridays - #121 create with 8

Here is the sketch.

Happy Monday

Morning everyone.  Just a quick post before I'm off to work.  Here is another wedding card.  I saw one like this on a sight a while ago, but can't remember were it was.  I thought that is so simple and elegant.  So thank you to whoever it was that came up with this idea, it's great.
It's an overcast day here, rain in the forcast.  Good news about that is it will take away the nasty snow.
This week I'm busy planning the little guys birthday party.  I figured they are off school on Friday, and most people don't go away for Easter till Sunday.  So he wanted to try a sleep over.  He's invited two boys.  They are both bring their bikes so I'm hoping for nice weather so they can be outside most of the day.

Have a great day.

wishing you love and laughter

Morning everyone.  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Today the sun is shinning looks beautiful, its even getting warmer this morning.  This last week has been a cold one, with below 0 temps.
Friday night we were over at the neighbors for an enjoyable evening.  There were four couples in all.  Our kids were the only ones there, because everyones kids are all older.  It was alot of fun, we need to do that more often.  Although our house is small and we don't have room for 8 people to sit in the same room.  We'll have to wait till its warmer and have a patio party out at the hot tub.
Today I'm home with the kids.  DH is away at a RC car race.  He left at 5:30am this morning.  Hope he has his cars working better than the last time.  Good luck to him.
Last week I was asked  for a wedding and shower card.  Thats what I've been working on this week.  I don't really have a good selection.  I thought my new feather stamp would go well with the hummingbird.  The one flower is cut out and put on with a foam square, and the hummingbirds wings have a foam square behind them so they stick out like it's flying.

Have a wonderful end to the weekend

Happy Tuesday

Morning ladies.  I'm a day late posting my card.  I was going to try to post a card a day over the March Break.  I left it too late last night.  DH beat me to the computer after the kids where put to bed.  He had a gaming night.  So I have two cards for today.
Both have matching envelopes.  What a time I've had making envelopes.  When I did the easter one I discovered that there was an error in the measurements on the instructions I was following.  The flaps are too short too seal.  The birthday card is the only one I don't have to alter.
This card covers two challenges:
365 Cards-Day 14-Super Sketchy Sunday
Crafty Card Makers-Challenge 16-A Feminine Celebration

Here is the sketch.

Happy Birthday.  This card may come in handy next month.  Both of my kids have a birthday.
This one is for two challenges as well.
Cute Card Thursday-Challenge 103-Celebration
Cuttlebug Challenges-Be Inspired #74-Envelopes
You were to make a matching envelope to go with your card.  The inside of my envelope also has the same paper as the card.

My son has a friend over today.  The boys are enjoying the nice weather outside today.  We've had great weather lately.

oops i forgot

What a beautiful day we had again today.  Last week was sunny and they are calling for sunshine this week as well.  I'm just hoping it will last through next week too.  The kids are off for March Break and I have the week off too.

Last night I whipped up this card real quick, after realizing that I'd forgotten my brother inlaws birthday last week.  I didn't feel like turning the computer on, so I pulled out the old manual typewriter.

Happy Anniversary Card Patterns

Congrats Card Patterns on one year.  I enjoy your weekly sketches.  It gives me a great place to start when making a card.  Easter is on its way.  I've colored this little cutie from SU with watercolor pencils.  The little flowers are stamped in turquoise ink and clear embossed.
This card was made for Card Patterns-Challenge 53.
Here is the sketch.

I want to congratulate my daughter.  This week at school they started the battles for Battle of the Books.  She has done her two battles this week winning 9-3, and 8-3.  Her team moves on the the finals next week for their school.  If shes lucky enough to win,  they go on to compete with the other schools in the area.  Good luck sweetie.
You know when your a card maker when you see something and try to copy it.  Earlier this week I saw a  customer at work wearing a fleece jacket green in color with trees on it.  I came home that night and made this card. What do you think?

Until next time

Card Patterns

Morning ladies.  Just a quick post before heading out the door to work.  Our meeting yesterday at the school went very well.  I haven't pulled out the results from his first assessment in JK, but he is average or above average in everything but his articulation is still a problem.  She has requested Kurzweil for him in the classroom and luckily it is one that can be shared at home.  It may take till next school year to have it approved through the board.  But will be a great help to him when we get it.  Also a great benefit for the entire class.
My quiet morning yesterday, I made this card.  It is for Card Patterns-sketch 51.  This stamp set is one of my faves.  It is from Stampin Up Eastern Influences.  I did the whole card in black and white, stamping the flower twice, coloring it with distress ink and mounting it with foam squares.  I did all the images with black embossing to make them standout a little more.

Here is the sketch.
Have a great day and

House Mouse

Morning ladies.  A bit of quiet time for me.  I have the morning to myself, and a meeting at the school this afternoon with the speech pathologist.  We find out how much the little guy has improved in four years.  It's a fine line, you want him to improve, but you also don't want to loose the extra help in the classroom.  He is needing the EA less and less which is good, but there are still times that he gets frustrated and needs her.
On to my card.  Our local craft store The Craft Nook got in some House Mouse stamps.  They are sooo cute.  I have purchased two, this is the first one.  This card is for 365 Cards-Day 352-Gloria's Sketch.  Well done Gloria, love the sketch.
This is Gloria's sketch.

A Blast from the Past

Good morning ladies, happy Sunday.  It's been so nice to be home all weekend with the family.  I had Friday off to go over to Parry Sound for a concert.  My two aunts and I left early in the afternoon and met my cousin (who flew down from Thunder Bay) and her girlfriend, and went out for dinner, then the show. We went to see Deric Ruttan with Hey Romeo opening for him.  Deric is my cousin, it's amazing to see him up on stage.  And to have a band opening his show, it wasn't too many years ago that he was opening for bigger names.  It was a great show.
This card looks like it is a blast from the past.  Something from the 60's.  I cut the vase out of chipboard, stamped the flower stems and made the heart flowers from 3 heart shapes.  It is for Little Red Wagon-Challenge #14-Chipboard.
This little cutie is for Cupcake Craft Challenges-Challenge #76-Four legged & Furry.
The sketch is Card Patterns-Sketch #50.

Fairy Fantastic

Morning everyone.  I'm back on track.  Everyone is off to work and school, and mom gets a relaxing morning at home alone.  My cup of tea and taped episodes of CSI that I haven't had time to watch.  A little blogging and this afternoon off to the school to see my daughters french play.
Last night I was able to complete this card before we sat down to watch Lost.  My card covers two challenges.

Going Girly

Wow, it's taken me a week do get the creativity back to make a card.  All week I've tried, and just stared at the supplies.  So I started knitting the kids socks, and working on a Christmas scrapbook.  Today I came home from work, and said "I'm going to make a card".  Then had to rush to get it posted on here before DH gets on the computer to play a little later.

Todays card is for four challenges.
Cupcake Crafts Challenges-Challenge #73-Going Girly
Cute Card Thursday-Challenge #95-Pink & Grey
Little Red Wagon-Challenge #11-Polka Dots

Card Withdrawl

Ahhhh, I can't take it anymore.  Last night I just had to whip up a card.  I've been so good over Christmas being home with the whole family, not spending time at my craft table, other than a little bit of Christmas scrapbooking.  I whipped this card up using Build a Card Pad by Imaginisce.  It came together so quickly. I added the last of my 3D critters that has been floating around on my desk.
I have spent the last two hours going through old e-mails that I have been neglecting.  It's nice to be here all by myself, with no one to interupt.  Most of what I was looking at was scrapbooking stuff, which I'm really trying to do.  Getting all my pics off the computer into albums.  But that takes away from card time.
Well enjoy your day.

365 Cards

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  We did.  I've been home since Christmas Day, so its been nice.  Sweatshirts and loungie pants is all I've worn.  How relaxing.  I've done a couple of scrapbook pages, a couple cards, and tried to tidy up my area while finding room for all the new stuff.  Hooked up my new laser printer today.  And I've spent the last four days learning how to use my new cell phone.  We had an old one we carried for emergencies.  The kids at work laughed at it, it didn't flip open, it was just one handset,so I would have to lock the keypad so you didn't dial someone when it was in your purse.  Enough about that, on to cards.
I put tegether these little 3-D critters before Christmas, and they were sitting on my work space getting in the way.  I made these cards for 365 Cards-Day 302-Sketchy Sunday.

Here is the sketch.

365 Cards, Cupcake and Little Red Wagon

I'm about 24 hrs late posting my cards.  We worked removing snow from the driveway till 9:30 last night.  When I came in the power had flashed off and turned the computer off.  I was so tired just didn't feel like posting.  The snow has finally quit falling today and we had blue skies and sunshine.  I still didn't make it to work, because the car had sat for two days with the snow falling around it.  It was like it was in a pit.
Enough about the snow.  On to the cards.  This one is for Cupcake Craft Challenges-Challenge 69-Sing a Christmas Carol.  You were to choose your favorite christmas carol to use on your card.  I heard 'I'll be Home For Christmas' on the radio the other day and thought this stamp was perfect.  It is also for 365 Cards-Day 284-DIY Sketches.  Design your own sketch and create a card based on it.

Here is my sketch.

This pic is from Little Red Wagon-Challenge 6.  You were to be inspired by the photo.  I used a cuttlebug folder of the village (one of my fav christmas folder).  I embossed it on white wash green coordinations.  I sanded the houses a bit to show the green through, added glitter to the roofs and snowflakes, and added three little star jewel in the sky.  A bit of gold glitter around the edge.  I added the word 'Peace' on the bottom for 365 Cards-Day 285-A Certain Sentiment.  You were to use the word 'Peace' as the entire sentiment or as part of the sentiment.

Here is my card.

365 cards challenge day 155

Here is day 155 Super Sketchy Sunday for 365 Cards. As soon as I saw this sketch I thought of a Christmas card. I have no idea why. But here is what I came up with.
This is now Monday evening and the long weekend is finally over. After working all day I'm a bit tired. I at least had yesterday off with the family. I don't know if its been the weather or what, but the cottagers this year have been rather rood. (Well some of the locals too.) Only one more big one to go before the kids are back in school. (My daughter can't wait till school starts again.)
Must go now to get them headed to bed, so I can relax in the quiet.
Have a great evening :)

365 Cards Challenge Day 148

This card is for 365 Cards Day 148-Super Sketchy Sunday. I saw this technique on cuttlebug challenge. It's done with a metal stencil on two sided adhesive and glitter. I never do anything easy, for my first try I picked a stencil that was a little tight to mask for the two colors. But it turned out not bad.
ooops. Sorry about the last post. After posting I was going down the other posts and noticed I had already posted the purple card. I didn't have it marked off my list for posting.
Have a great day :)

Thinking of You

Here is a get well card I made the same time I did the sympathy card for 365 cards challenge. Randy needed it for someone from his office who had surgury.
Well rain again. I plan on doing nothing today (but laundry) and card making although I'm running out of time the afternoon has already started. The day will be over before I know it.
Yesterday was a very long day. Randy had an RC Car Race in Whitby. It was up at 5.00am to leave the house by 6.00am. A two hour drive, and standing around in a parking lot all day watching grown men race cars around a track. Actually it was a lot of fun, even the kids had a good day. But it was 9.15pm before we were back home. So today everyone is very tired.
Hope to post later tonight with a new card
Have a great day :0)

hello

Last week I went into the craft store to pick up discontinued cuttlebug christmas folders. As usual you can never leave there with just one thing. This new folder was there. The set embosses the flower pattern right on the card, and it also comes with a cutting die with four words. This is what I came up with. I used some flocking on one flower and leaves.
Have a great weekend :0)

365 challenge 143 144

Today's cards are for 365 cards challenge 144 You Raise Me Up. To add dimension to my cards I like these 3D images. They are fun to put together. Some added gems are always nice too.
The second one is day 143 Keep it to Yourself : Sympathy. I used the negative image of an outline sticker.
Well the last two days were nice and sunny out. Today I'm back to work and yes it's rainning. Which will make it busy today, because half our population in the summer is cottagers and they can't stay at the cottage when it rains. The thing to do is go grocery shopping. But at least it makes the day go fast.
Chat later :0)

365 challenge day141

This card is for 365 card challenge day 141.
Last night I whipped up 3 versions of this card. Two were sympathy and the third was a get well card that Randy needed for the office.
Have a great day :)
