I'm up early rhis morning and off to work after having two days home with my family. I have been working on my bullet journal while home. I'll share some of my pages soon.

For now I wanted to share the card I created for all the managers and back office associates that I work with. Each one was done with different pattern paper. I found 6x6 pads at Micheal's. Christmas themes, one in pink colors and one in blue colors.

Merry Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas to all my blog friends out there. Hope you had a an amazing day as I did. Having my daughter home from college is always wonderful. We saved all the Christmas preparations untilsshe came home. We all decorate the tree, and her and I spend a day making cookies.

I'm finally starting to get my mojo back. I'm sharing just some of the Christmas tags I made for us. Tomorrow I will share the card I created for associates at work.

Merry Christmas Walmart Peeps

Morning blogland peeps.  This past week I have been busy making cards for co-workers.  I am a Customer Service Manager (CSM) at Walmart. I supervise the cashiers, customer service desk and self checkouts.  This year I decided to make cards for all my peeps plus a few more that help out on the front end. Fifty-five cards in all.

I started by cutting out all the card bases and front panels.  I stamped my image on white cardstock.  Here I am stamping the snowman image from the card onto the envelope with versa mark.

I them layered my image panel onto a color panel and added the word 'merry' to the snowballs above the snowman.

After coloring the hat, mittens and scarf with color pencils, I put the panel onto the card base.  Then adding stickles to the snow, wink of stella to the hat, mittens and scarf, and glaze pen to his coal parts. Here they are layed out to dry. (Some had to be put onto hubbies desk. Glad he wasn't home to see.)

And here is my finished card.  It took me all morning to sign and add names to the envelopes. But most have already been delivered, and I will gradually catch everyone else this week.

Today will be spent finishing my cards for family and friends. I know I will probably miss the mailing deadline, but that is typical for me. Who doesn't like receiving a Christmas card in the New Year.

Jingle Belles - Bring in the New

Good evening everyone. Well the temperatures were a little better this week.  Started out cold, but by the end of the week it was bearable.  And no snow, other than a dusting last night. 

I have been working on this card all week.  The start of the week I sat down to color.  I actually did two of the same image.  One painted with new watercolor paints, and this one using my new Spectrum Noir blendable pencils.  I like the pencil one the best so decided to use it. 

 

Today I finished my card.  After struggling for awhile to get the embossing the way I wanted.  The Cuttlebug folders don't quite fit a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card face.  The bakers twine I made myself.  And the  Merry Christmas I only had in gold, so I colored it with a Sharpie marker in silver.

Tomorrow is off to a badminton tournament with my son.  It's just a fun day for the kids.  Round robins, no keeping track of who wins, and no medals or trophy's.  And they get pizza for lunch.  I think that's why most of them are going.

OhJoyous We Sing

Morning everyone.  I can't believe I've been so busy the last few weeks to sit down and write a post.  We have had chicken pox run through our house.  I started with my son, and once he was back to school my daughter and hubbie came down with it.  What a relief today, daughter is off to school after a little makeup to cover up the few spots still remaining on her face. 

This week comes the big push to get finished for Christmas.  Finish up shopping, baking cookies, and preparing for the big dinner. 

I've been enjoying making one layer cards lately. Working with distress inks and watercolors.  On this card I masked the moon and the snowbanks, coloring the snow.  Then stamp the trees on.  The carolers are a cut out. They remind of my gramma.  As a child at Christmas she would take me and my cousins out caroling to a few of the close niebors.  Then back to her house for hot chocolate and cookies. 

Now off to enjoy some quiet time.

Believe

 

Good morning everyone. Chilly morning here with the temperature dropping to -11.  I hope all my American friends and bloggers had their fill of turkey yesterday.  Happy Thanksgiving.  And happy shopping today, if you are out getting the Black Friday Sales. 

 

Today is a finish up and pack up day for me.  Tomorrow is the craft sale I've been working so hard to get ready for.  I think I'm loosing my helper though.  She informed me yesterday that there is an "Event" happening in Star Wars this weekend and she has to play.  She can't even spare a few hours to help her poor mother.  I'm going to keep on her though.  She'll be there. 

 

The stamp I used on this card is one I picked up when the Craft Nook closed down this year.  I love the look of this Santa and finally had to ink him up.  I choose to do a monochromatic card.

With Deepest Sympathy

Good evening friends.  Wow what a week I've had.  Last week was crazy.  The kids had three snow days and a PA Day. Monday was the only day they went to school.  Thursday my son woke up with a couple blisters on his body.  A trip to the doctor, with him saying he didn't know what it was.  "Call me tomorrow" he says.  My diagnosis of chicken pox was confirmed Friday morning, when he awoke with many more spots.  Poor guy is covered from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. 

This page in my art journal shows two picks I was practicing on.  The top one I borrowed liquid mask that hubbie uses for modeling.  As you can see there is no snow flakes showing.  I couldn't get it to rub off after inking.  After a trip to the arts store, for the purchase of my own liquid mask, the second picture turned out better.  I just have to control the splatter, it looks like snowballs.

 

 

Here is the card I created. With everything else happening last week, we also had a funeral to attend on Friday.  A family member passed from cancer.  The service was so lovely, with all three of his sons getting up to talk.  He was such a kind, caring man.  He will be missed by many. 

 

My marathon of Christmas card making is almost over.  This Saturday is the Craft Sale I've been working so hard for.

golden & silver trees

Good evening everyone.  Winter has landed here in my part of the world.  The kids had their second snow day today, with a chance of a third tomorrow.  They are calling for more snow squalls.  

My card today was in Cardmaker Magazine.  This is one I cardlifted trying to find my mojo.  All the trees are embossed with gold and silver embossing powder.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum, and a brad used to make the berries.

Holly & Berries

Good evening everyone.  What a great day I've had.  It felt like a holiday.  I spent the day making a turkey dinner.  Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf and buns baked this morning. And this afternoon the aroma of turkey cooking.  At Thanksgiving the turkeys went on sale for .79cents/lb. They were cheaper than a whole chicken, so I loaded up on. Dinner was soooo good I'm still stuffed. 

It's so nice when a card comes together the way you invision it in your head.  This card I started by inking up my embossing folder. The red wasn't very bright so I added red stickles for the berries.  Added the red and green layers, and the sentiment.

Mojo is Back

Morning peeps.  I won't lie, it's been a lazy morning.  We woke up to snow. A little depressing, I'm not a winter person.  There is no chance of it going away now.  Winter has landed, and I just have to make the best of it.  So I thought I'd sit at the dining room table, watch the snow fall outside my window and check out some card inspiration on your blogs.  Well, I came across a Blog Hop for Repeat Impressions and Die-Verions.  So much talent. It was a great hop ladies. Thanks.

 

I've been sitting on these beauties for a while. Now that I've located my camera I can share. I've worked on a few card lifts to get the mojo working again. As usual I didn't make a note where I found this style of card.  But when I saw them I thought, "how simple and easy".  And I was right.  It was fun making these and so easy.  And with them being flat with no dimensions between the layers, it makes them perfect for mailing.

Good evening everyone.  Today was a very productive day.  After finding a larger table to work on downstairs, I then moved all my supplies back down.  Today was fix up day.  Finishing off cards that were half done. 

My card this evening was fun for me to make.  It started when I was stamping some images to color.  When I sat down to color I envisioned this one in black and white.  So I set with my grey and black watercolor pencil.  When I went through my stash of paper I was unable to find black and white paper.  So I made my own.  Love the way the background turned out, looking like a snowstorm.  I even made my own black and white bakers twine.

Chilly

Afternoon everyone.  I hope everyone is keeping warm.  This morning it was -30 here.  So glad I don't have to leave the house.  Today I'm watching Orphan Black Marathon. Momma has taken over the TV.

I have had this image sitting colored and mounted on my desk for a few days.  I just couldn't find a sketch to work with it, so I started going through my paper.  I came across a kit of paper from doodlebug that I've had a few years.  Voila, it all just fell into place.

keeping warm

Good afternoon blogland.  Quick post before the rush to get ready for the New Year.  And clean out the shed to make room for the new tractor.  Our Kubota arrived just a short time ago.  Now the John Deere gets moved outside with a tarp over it till the new owner picks it up.  Because this one bigger, we must rearrange stuff stored in there to get it in out of the weather.  Looks like hubbie may be using it tomorrow too, we are getting some snow here today. 

Tonight will be our usual, just us and the kids.  Chinese dinner, maybe a movie, a bit of family time. I'll try to make it till midnight.  Most of the week I've been in bed before. 

My card today is my first attempt of a card like this.  I embossed cardstock with the snowflake pattern, cutting a circle in it.  The snowflake is cut out with the silhouette and held in place with gold thread.  I then used to foam dimensions to centre to the front of the card.  Gold outline stickers were used for the sentiment.

Trees All Abling

Evening everyone.  I have finally made it to the computer.  First the kid beat me to it, and then we started ripping apart the ceiling and had to unplug the internet.  We have been storing a few bails of insulation in our coverall where the lawn tractor is stored.  Our new tractor is coming tomorrow so the insulation has to go to make room for the bigger tractor.  So up went the plastic to keep part of the basement clean, and down came the drywall on the ceiling.  There is always complications when doing home reno's and it takes you longer than expected.  Part the plastic to get through and plug the computers back in for the evening. Must hurry now, hubbie just logged into his computer.  Daughter is in the shower then she will be down to kick me off.  So nice to see the father daughter bonding over a game of Star Wars. 

This card really came together for me.  The sketch was so great to work with.  My tree was fun to do.  Started with a new stamp that I got for Christmas.  The garland I used glossy accents then sprinkled with glitter.  The ornaments are metal jewels from my I-rock.  I stamped the tree onto the oval cut out my tree and glued it on.

Easy Peasy Cards

Good morning peeps.  Quick post this morning to show you a couple of quick cards.  When you don't have a lot of time or want something simple.  I found a sheet of paper by BoBunny with 12 images, all in nice little rectangle shapes.  I just cut out around shape, added some stickles and mounted onto a card, adding strips of decorative paper.  Ta Da your done.

Enjoying the Santa Claus Parade

Evening everyone.  Hope you have enjoyed your weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving to all my American blog friends.  I know I'm late, but I took a week off.  Now that it's December I can start decorating.  This weekend we put up the lights on the house.  This week the Christmas tree will go up.  Now that I'm home and have time, the kids have asked that we decorate the whole house.  Usually I'm busy working and only the basement where the tree is gets the decorations.  The upstairs is usually pretty bare. 

Here are a couple tags that I finished last week.  My son is bugging me to make tags. Our family supply is depleted and I have gifts wrapped.  It's killing him that he doesn't know which ones are his. 

Son and I  enjoyed the local Santa Claus Parade today.  It turned out to be a not too bad day.  It's always been just me and the kids at the parade. This year with the daughter in grade nine, she has decided that it's boring and wouldn't join us. 

Off to color her hair.  Blue is the choice of color.  She has dark hair, so we'll see how dark it comes out without bleaching it first.

Twinkle Twinkle

Afternoon everyone.  Boy am I on a role with Christmas cards.  My card today came about by accident.  I had actually picked the pattern on the other side of the paper.  It had penguins on it and was looking to do a card for a child.  I just happened to flip it over and the vision came to me.  I did use the penguins, but I much prefer this one. 

Sometimes the simple sketches are the most fun to do.  I even had got to use my cuttlebug to cut out the snowflakes and eight black stars.

Little Balls All in a Row

Good afternoon all.  Here are two more cards I've cardlifted.  Giving my brain a little break.  The ornaments was from Jill Foster, and the lanterns I believe I've seen a similar one on the Penny Black blog. 

The ornaments was a challenge.  I started out with markers to color directly on the stamp.  But that didn't work.  So I stamped the image in a light brown distress ink, and used the markers to color over.  Didn't like the way it looked so I tried to color over to do some shading.  Worked on some of the colors but not so much on others.  Then I took a contrast color and working each individual ornament at a time, reinked the stamp and stamped over the ornament.  I was finally happy.

The lanterns were colored with pencil crayons.  This one was a very simple card.  Placing twine to make it look as if they are hanging. 

I must get on making my gift tags.  I've started rapping presents because I have nowhere to hide them.  But I have to remember what each one is because I have no tags to put on them.

Winter Snow Globe

Good afternoon everyone.  All my chores are done in town.  Hubbies been home for lunch and now it's time to create before it gets noisy again.  It's swimming night so I have to take a break this evening for a few hours. 

I have two cards to show today.  This cute snow globe was colored with watercolor pencils.  A big of crystal stickles was add to the snow on the trees and roof.  I sketch came from Catch the Bug #146.

My second card was cardlifted.  It's such a simple elegant looking.  I don't remember were I saw it so I can't give you a link.

I'm on a Roll

Good evening everyone.  I'm on a roll here.  Managed to get my card scanned and a few more made between power outages, and family coming home.  Tomorrow morning will be a right off.  I have forgotten to renew my drivers licance.  It must be done tomorrow, so off to town again. 

I love this sketch it was so much fun to do.  I tore the decorative paper before adding on my string.  Placing my stamped image in the centre.  I added perfect pearls to the dots around the outside of the stamp.
