Hoping you Perk up Soon

Evening blogland.  I have managed to finish three cards. I've been playing with my new stamp from My Favorite Things. The Pure Innocence Steeped in Love stamp was so much fun to color. I used my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol.

Card #1

I matched her dress to the card base.  Blew the dust off a border punch, and used it on a piece of patterned paper.  Added a few sequins.

Card #2

This one I used the matching die to cut the image in the front of the card.  Placing the card in my Misti I placed the stamp into the cutout area and stamped with black ink, so that the image is stamped on the inside of the card.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front.

 Card #3

The purple pattern paper was embossed with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Create a Flower (which you can't see in the picture).  I added sparkly ribbon that I found at the dollar store, and some dots of liquid pearls.  The card front was added to a white card base.

Next cards in progress are Easter.  Shopping at the Dollar Tree the other day I found some Easter stickers, glitter paper, and glitter ribbon.  These will be used to make cards for our family since I didn't send off the Christmas cards.  I still have the kids school pictures that have to be delivered before they are a year old.

Miss U

Good evening everyone.  We had another down day today, rained all day.  I dragged my unimat saw out and had a day of woodworking.  But that is for tomorrows post.  Last night I put together a card with one of the images I cut with the Silhouette yesterday.
I used Distressed Ink on an acrylic stamp block and spritzed with water then smooshed onto watercolor paper.  The edges were distressed and the image glued on, the flowers being put on with pop dots.  This card already has a home.  I made it special for my aunt.  She is my go to mamma whenever I need something.  And at the end of the month she is moving 2 hours away.  Boy will I miss her.

I even managed to squeeze in a challenge.  Mojo Monday 358.

House Mouse

Morning ladies.  A bit of quiet time for me.  I have the morning to myself, and a meeting at the school this afternoon with the speech pathologist.  We find out how much the little guy has improved in four years.  It's a fine line, you want him to improve, but you also don't want to loose the extra help in the classroom.  He is needing the EA less and less which is good, but there are still times that he gets frustrated and needs her.
On to my card.  Our local craft store The Craft Nook got in some House Mouse stamps.  They are sooo cute.  I have purchased two, this is the first one.  This card is for 365 Cards-Day 352-Gloria's Sketch.  Well done Gloria, love the sketch.
This is Gloria's sketch.

Happy Valentines

Happy Valentines to everyone.  It's late but I had to finish this card tonight.  It's for DH.  I'm watching the Olympic's while trying to do this.  Womens Mogels are on.  Last night when I got home from work at 10:30 the kids were still up watching the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics.  Sam is really into watching the athletes because, her class at school has an asignment to research a Canadian athlete.  On Thursday they did their oral presentations, so she knows the names of some of them.
This card is for:
Little Red Wagon-Challenge #15-Red with Bling.  Not much red on my card but I have pink heart gems.
Cute Card Thursday-Challenge#99-In the name of Love!
Cupcake Craft Challenges-Challenge #77-Red and White all over.

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Tomorrow.

A Blast from the Past

Good morning ladies, happy Sunday.  It's been so nice to be home all weekend with the family.  I had Friday off to go over to Parry Sound for a concert.  My two aunts and I left early in the afternoon and met my cousin (who flew down from Thunder Bay) and her girlfriend, and went out for dinner, then the show. We went to see Deric Ruttan with Hey Romeo opening for him.  Deric is my cousin, it's amazing to see him up on stage.  And to have a band opening his show, it wasn't too many years ago that he was opening for bigger names.  It was a great show.
This card looks like it is a blast from the past.  Something from the 60's.  I cut the vase out of chipboard, stamped the flower stems and made the heart flowers from 3 heart shapes.  It is for Little Red Wagon-Challenge #14-Chipboard.
This little cutie is for Cupcake Craft Challenges-Challenge #76-Four legged & Furry.
The sketch is Card Patterns-Sketch #50.

Last day school

This morning was very emotional for me. Today was the last day of school, and the awards assembley at the kids school. My daughter recieved an award called the Evan Luker Award. It is an achievement award given to a boy and girl in grade 4. Evan was a boy that went to their school about 20 years ago and was killed in a car accident. His parents set up the award to be presented every year to a boy and girl in grade 4. The Lukers still go to the school every year to present the students with the award. Its such an honor to have Sam receive this award. Makes us feel like we're doing something right with her. She really loves school and doesn't want summer vacation.

This card is one that I whipped up the other night to go in the card box for Sam's teacher. You can't tell in the picture, but the tulip is alittle shiney. It's painted with a new product I found called glass bead gel. You can add color to it, or as I did just left it and let it dry clear over the stamped image. It tiny glass beads in a gel.

Have a great day

Friends

Today Samantha's recital went very well. She played with a group of kids, then took her turn and played a solo. She did very well. Now Grant wants guitar lessons. His hands are too small to hold a guitar. When he plays guitar hero he lays the guitar on his lap so he can push the buttons.

Last week I went to a card class at the Craft Nook. We learned how to use watercolors. I enjoy doing these. I've always liked to color. This one was done with pencils. The butterfly is an outline sticker put onto vellum and colored with identa pens.

Hope the start to the week is sunny. (What am I saying, it will be I'm working.)

Keep smiling. Chat later. ;)

Wedding Cake

I found this simple card I believe on docraft. But when I went back to look again at it I couldn't find it. You would think I would learn to print it when I see something I like. I usually can't remember what site I saw it on.

It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday. And today when I'm home what's it do? RAIN.

Have a great week. Chat later. :)
