Happy Thanksgiving

Good afternoon blog peeps. For all my Canadian followers Happy Thanksgiving. I have the turkey in cooking and while I'm waiting I decided to take a time out at my craft area.

This is my most recent stamp set from Creative Stamper magazine. Looking forward to using it in my calendar. But first I have to stamp it for my index binder and organize the stamps in an organizer.

Gone to Soon

I have been sitting on this card for a month. It took me a week to sit down and create. I knew exactly how I wanted it to look but just couldn't sit down to do it. You see it was made for a very dear friend and co-worker who lost her husband suddenly.

I embossed onto a piece of colored cardstock. Colored the bird, darkened around the edge, and added the sentiment.

I will be back soon. Our Walmart is getting new craft supplies in and I found alcohol inks. So much fun.

Many Hoppy Returns

Hello blog friends. Again it has been awhile since I've posted. But this time I have been crafting. I have found three cards that need to be posted. I'm even entering a challenge with this one.

The stamp set was from Creative Stamping Magazine. I just fell in love with the large arm chair, all the dogs, cats, bunny, and fish where just a bonus.

I started by masking the area where the carrots are. Stamped and colored the carrots. I then stamped the bunny and grass, and colored. I masked strip with the carrots and ink blended the blue around the edge of the card. Added the sentiment and some liquid pearls.

I am entering this in Cute Card Thursday - Challenge #586 CAS

Your Kindness Is Greatly Appreciated

Good evening everyone. What a day at work. We are six days away from inventory and the whole staff is getting cranky. I've been told to only do crutial parts of my job till after inventory. I get to work out on the floor straighten up the store and making sure everything is where it needs to be. Today I was in automotive today, and tomorrow I get to play in to toy department.

My card I have to share has been hanging around for awhile. I love this tea stamp set. I have a collection of tea pots displayed on the top of my kitchen cupboard. So when I saw this set with a magazine I just had to have it. I colored my card with my favorite medium, pencil crayons. This card is a one-layer, so I was got to play with masking. When finished I colored lightly around the image and used gamsol to blend it out.

until next time happy crafting

Organiziation

Evening everyone. This post is a couple days late, as I have been having an issue with Blogger.  But I think I have it working again. I should have tried shutting my tablet down two days ago.

Today was a crazy day at work. We had visitors from Head Office for their yearly visit. It's always hectic awaiting their arrival. Making sure everything is in good order. They came, they toured, and they left.  We had a really good review. So hopefully tomorrow is back to normal. As normal as it can be.

I did manage to clean up my desk, kind of. The last couple stamp sets that I used had not been put into my organizers. So that is what I have been working on.

I have a mini binder where I stamp all my stamps. That way when I'm looking for an image I have one binder to  look through. The stamps are placed in an E-Z Mount container.

I have a card to share next time. Untill then

Where Is My Desk

Hello all. It has been a long time again since I last posted. But as you can see from the state of my desk I cannot get to it. Once again it is piled high. Last week I received a package and haven't even played with anything yet. So today is clean up day.

The last couple of weeks our town has been under a flood emergency. A lot of rural roads are flooded and closed. There are many people evacuated from their homes. Luckily we are not one of them. We live on the opposite side of the road from the river, and up on a hill. If the water reaches us we are in big trouble. Although the road further down from us is flooded. The disadvantage a building next to a water way.

A week ago my sister-in-law passed away. It has been a sad time. It makes you stop and think how shorts life really is. Although Lizzie is at rest now as she suffered from MS. But, it only leaves my husband and one sister from his family.

So let's see if I can get this mess cleared up, and maybe get back to crafting. Oh how I miss sitting down here at my desk.

4 out of 5 complete

Hi all. This is my last night in the big city. One more day of class and I head up the hiway home. Dispite my fears at the beginning it has turned out to be a good week. I have met alot of different people and become close friends with afew. I will miss them after tomorrow. I have even managed to drive use around shopping, Grant you it's still on the same street as the motel.

Last night we were able to relax. The end of the first section, and the test was written. What a releaf. I passed. I spent the evening coloring a card. So relaxing.

This is a one layer card. I stamped the images right onto the card base.  I colored it with prisma pencils.

Waaaaay Out of My Comfort Zone

Good evening all. Before I get to my card I would like to share with you my day. When I started my position as Compliance Associate five months ago I have been dreading this day. They told me I would need to take a Health & Safety Core Training. This consists of five days of training in the city. I live in a small town where I was born and raised. Nice country setting just outside of town. I managed to miss the first date, but then the next training session came up. No avoiding it.

So after a few nights of unsettled sleep, the day arrived to go. The first part of the journey was fine. Straight to visit my daughter which I have driven several times. But then the butterflies started again, when I was driving new territory. But 20 minutes later and very proud of myself I arrived at my motel. Checked myself in and waited for my roommate to arrive.

Another high five to myself, when she arrived I drove us to Walmart to get some groceries. Ok, that wasn't too bad it was on the same street as the motel. (So is the Michael's that I will be visiting later this week)

Now if you are still with me, here is a card I forgot to post. This is the last card using this floral set for awhile.

I stamped the images all over the background and colored with prisma pencils. I then took a rectangular die and cut the centre out. I placed fun foam behind it to give it dimension. Lastly is used perfect pearls on the centres of the flowers.

Thinking of Spring

Happy Sunday afternoon friends. It has been another snowy weekend. Light snow for most of the last two days, but not a whole lot of accumilation. Nothing like last Monday.

Yesterday I finally die cut the flowers I had colored.

I first started with a stencil and two colors of distress inks. The images were colored with prisma pencils. I then die cut with the matching dies, and arranged them ontop of my distressing. The sentiment was stamped on a thin piece of white cardstock. I lined one end with the edge of the card and flagged the other end. Adding it to my card with foam adhesive. I used liquid pearls for the centre of the yellow card.

It's been so long since I've actually finished a card in time for the challenge.  I am entering this one in Freshly Made Sketches - 377

Happy Family Day

Morning all. Hope everyone is enjoying their Family Day. I am enjoying my quiet time right now. Hubbie and son are taking advantage of the holiday to sleep in. Doesn't help that they are both sick.

Sometime this afternoon we have to take some snow off the roof. This week we had three blizzards blow through. Big dump of snow. Glad it's back to sunny skies. Although it could be a little warmer.

I recently watched a video from Simon at Inklipse. He was testing life hacks. The one with the magnet mounted in the frame caught my eye. It is used for holding your dies in one safe place while die cutting. So off to the local Walmart store for supplies. In the craft isle I came across small magnetic sheets, and a plane wooden frame. Small but I usually don't have that many dies out a time.

Here are all my supplies.

I prepared the wood with a coat of white gesso. Tore up some paper I had on my desk from another project and got to work glueing. What a sticky mess I had. The medium gloss gel I used worked for the job, but I think I would use something else next time. It was just like glue and I was sticking to everything. But in the end it turned out great. I happy with the end result.

Thanks Simon for all the time you put into making your videos. I enjoy watching your work. Your Life Hacks videos are very informative. I have gotten more than one idea from them. Good luck on your new line you have just launched.

Monochromatic

Happy Monday. Back to the work week. Hope everyone had a productive weekend. It was another chilly one here in Muskoka. Good to stay in on those cold ones.

I enjoyed coloring with the white pencil on black cardstock. I tried the same technique on kraft paper. Using a brown pencil to color my flowers. I think I might even like this one better than the black and white one.

After stamping a random background pattern I colored it with a brown prisma pencil. When it was finished I used a rectangle die to cut a frame out about a 1/4 inch from the edge. I mounted the frame on dimension tape and the rest of the card flat on a white card base. Looking at it now, I think it needs a few sequins added to it.

BRRR -30 Is Cold

Evening everyone. Hope this finds everyone warm. We are in a deep freeze. It started on the weekend. -20 was the high during the day. The wind made it even colder. This morning the school buses were cancelled because of the cold. It was -28 when I left for work.

So with all this cold I've been thinking about spring, and coloring flowers. With the start of a new year comes new things. I have a drawer full of new stamps, embossing folders, dies. I will be using it all, starting with this new stamp set and dies.

For this one I stamped the background with white ink on a black background. I then colored with a white prisma pencil. Trimmed a bit off the edges, and mounted it on a white cardbase. I added a small sentiment and mounted it with foam tape.

Pretty In Purple

Afternoon everyone. Home for a quick lunch. I actually feel that I am accomplishilng something at work today. The first time all week. Great way to wrap up the week.

Last night I was playing with a new stamp. Stamping it out to cover the background. Now I can color them.  One I did for to use the matching dies to cut out. I will share when finished.

Today I want to share the second card from last weekend. This one I colored the flowers purple. I think this one is my favorite. I love the purple with the dark grey background.

One Stamp Fully Colored

Afternoon everyone. Home from work for lunch. It's so nice to live close enough to go home on my lunch hour. Just gives you a much needed break away.

Over the weekend I pulled out an old stamp and had some fun with it. When I originally stamped it I was thinking a one layer card. So I stamped it right onto the card base. Well I didn't eyeball it and didn't get it quite in the centre. I colored the image and then decided to color with a dark grey all around the image. When this was done I decided to cut it out, layer a color cardstock to match the flowers, then mount it onto a card base.

On this one I layed a piece of orange burlap to match the flowers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019

Evening everyone. Hope you all had a Happy New Year. My day was spent relaxing in my jammies, working on my bullet journal. I'm so enjoying creating my own calender. All the trackers to try to keep me in line.

Here is my cute little cupid for February's calender.
