Flu Season

Just home from the doctors with my germ factories.  Grant started last Thursday, and just seems to be getting worse not better.  Now we have antibiotics for him, and he can't go back to school till next week.  Hopefully rest and quiet at home and he'll get better.  Sam is complaining about upset stomach and dizzyness.  She's been home since Tuesday.

Card recipe:
cardstock, versa mark, black emboss powder, silk flowers, i-Rock gems, br. cats eye ink.

I had fun trying out my new i-Rock.  It will take a bit to figure out how long to heat each stone.

I'm heading off to the Craft Nook this afternoon for a card class.

happy birthday

Quick post this morning.  Had the little guy to the doctors this morning and am waiting for the sitter so I can rush to work.  He's had headaches lately,  don't know why.  Doctor can't find anything wrong.  Maybe rest for a day will help.

We have a 50th birthday to go to tomorrow, so last night I whipped up this card to take.  I made it for Card Patterns-Sketch 101

Card Patterns Sketch 100

Here we are Thursday already.  Where has the week gone.  It's been a busy day ever since the alarm went off at 6:30. It's 9:00 now and I'm just  getting to post my card.  My morning started with rushed lunches so I could get to a cleaning job, before I went off to my regular job.  Soup for supper because there was no time for anything else.  Out the door to get Sam to violin, because we missed it yesterday due to a snowstorm.  After dropping her off it was to the school to drop Grant off for basketball, back to pick Sam up, and back to wait for Grant.  Rush to swimming, I did get to sit down there for 45 min, even got to read abit.  Next stop home, snacks, bed, and here we are.  Don't think there will be much crafting tonight, other than maybe to cut paper for the kids to start their valentines.

My card today was for Card Patterns-Sketch 100
I stamped hearts on white paper with red ink, then colored the ribbons with watercolor pencils.  The scalloped circle was cut with spellbinders and without removing the paper from the die I used yellow distress ink to color it.  Then stamped with black ink.

Punch Bug Red

Morning everyone.  Well the temperatures are back to normal.  -7 when I got up this morning.  Day off, and I'm trying to pack alot into today.  I was able to finish off this card during my morning tea.  Little house work soon.  And then I have to get ready to head to the school after lunch.  The little guy is doing his first french play today, so I have to slip in to see.  Take back an overdue book to the library.  Tonight is a quick supper of soup.  We only have an hour from the time the kids get home till Grant has to be at basketball, then a rush to get Sam to  swimming lessons.

The stamp on my card is from Sparkle Creations.  I won it from a random draw from Card Patterns.  I colored it in with watercolor pencils.  The green patterned paper is made with a Spellbinders Impressabilities floral Silhouette.  I taped it to white paper and used green distress ink.  The flower on the card is a little flower punch glued on with gold stickles in the centre.

Wedding Bells

Good afternoon everyone.  Woke up to another morning of -22.  Brrrr.  Ever try to find a bathing suit in the middle of winter in a small town?  Walmart doesn't have them.  The outfitters store, well I'm not paying $70 for an eleven year old to wear a few months and then it doesn't fit.  But thank goodness for Zellers, I found a few.  Now to take her before swimming to get one.  I now I shouldn't leave things till the last minute, but thats me.

My card today is done in all white, for a wedding.  I embossed with the cuttlebug swirls.  I distressed the edges with Distress Ink in Old Paper.  The cake is an outline sticker, colored with gelly roll sakura pens.

Rain Rain Go Away

Fall is definately here.  Rain, cold, grey skies.  At least the rain held off last week when I was away with my daughters grade 6 class at Yearly.  An outdoor education centre.  What an amazing place.  Two days of learning about the outdoors and survival.
On to card stuff.
My patterned paper and cat are downloaded from Do Crafts. (Daisy & Dandelion)  The spiderweb is embossed with a cuttlebug folder, and cut into three.

There were two cats on the page, so I had to make them both.

Caardvarks & Card Patterns

Good morning everyone.  It's been beautiful here the last couple of days.  I have been home for two days with the kids, and we have visited the beach both days.  Beautiful sunshine.  Today is back to work, and it looks like rain out.
I love playing with the Distress Inks.  I stamped the flower pattern with versa mark and white embossed.   Then I distress inked with an orange and green.  The piece embossed with the dots is colored with the same colors, only it turned out a bit darker.
The challenges for this card are:

First long weekend

Afternoon everyone.  This week I've been working on Project 12.  I've already gotten my May done.  Last night I whipped up this card for Card Patterns Sketch 64.  I just love this stamp from Hero Arts, it's so springy, with the bird and flowers.  And I found the flowered paper in my scrap bin.

Everyone enjoy your weekend, I at least get Sunday off.

Fairy Fantastic

Morning everyone.  I'm back on track.  Everyone is off to work and school, and mom gets a relaxing morning at home alone.  My cup of tea and taped episodes of CSI that I haven't had time to watch.  A little blogging and this afternoon off to the school to see my daughters french play.
Last night I was able to complete this card before we sat down to watch Lost.  My card covers two challenges.
