Evening my blog peeps. Update on my shoulder. Not much has changed. The physiotherapist thinks I have gone from a strain to a tear. Physio was not working and the pain was gettig worse so I had to stop till I see another doctor. Tomorrow the wait is over. Sure hope he has encouraging news.
I spent the last two nights working on a card, using a new stamp set. The only card magazines I can purchase in our town are ones from the UK. They always come with stamp and die sets. Great value. The latest one I purchased had an embossing folder, stamp set and dies of a bookshelf and books. It was so much fun playing with this set.
I started out with the embossing folder on white paper and using distress inks to add color. Using the book dies in multiple colors and adding them to the book shelves. The cat was stamped, colored and die cut. The flowers and picture frame were stamped, colored and fussy cut. Using foam tape to give them dimension. The panel was mounted on a dark purple mat and white card base.

Thinking of Spring
Happy Sunday afternoon friends. It has been another snowy weekend. Light snow for most of the last two days, but not a whole lot of accumilation. Nothing like last Monday.
Yesterday I finally die cut the flowers I had colored.
Yesterday I finally die cut the flowers I had colored.
I first started with a stencil and two colors of distress inks. The images were colored with prisma pencils. I then die cut with the matching dies, and arranged them ontop of my distressing. The sentiment was stamped on a thin piece of white cardstock. I lined one end with the edge of the card and flagged the other end. Adding it to my card with foam adhesive. I used liquid pearls for the centre of the yellow card.
It's been so long since I've actually finished a card in time for the challenge. I am entering this one in Freshly Made Sketches - 377

Happy Family Day
Morning all. Hope everyone is enjoying their Family Day. I am enjoying my quiet time right now. Hubbie and son are taking advantage of the holiday to sleep in. Doesn't help that they are both sick.
Sometime this afternoon we have to take some snow off the roof. This week we had three blizzards blow through. Big dump of snow. Glad it's back to sunny skies. Although it could be a little warmer.
I recently watched a video from Simon at Inklipse. He was testing life hacks. The one with the magnet mounted in the frame caught my eye. It is used for holding your dies in one safe place while die cutting. So off to the local Walmart store for supplies. In the craft isle I came across small magnetic sheets, and a plane wooden frame. Small but I usually don't have that many dies out a time.
Here are all my supplies.
I prepared the wood with a coat of white gesso. Tore up some paper I had on my desk from another project and got to work glueing. What a sticky mess I had. The medium gloss gel I used worked for the job, but I think I would use something else next time. It was just like glue and I was sticking to everything. But in the end it turned out great. I happy with the end result.
Thanks Simon for all the time you put into making your videos. I enjoy watching your work. Your Life Hacks videos are very informative. I have gotten more than one idea from them. Good luck on your new line you have just launched.

Monochromatic
Happy Monday. Back to the work week. Hope everyone had a productive weekend. It was another chilly one here in Muskoka. Good to stay in on those cold ones.
I enjoyed coloring with the white pencil on black cardstock. I tried the same technique on kraft paper. Using a brown pencil to color my flowers. I think I might even like this one better than the black and white one.
After stamping a random background pattern I colored it with a brown prisma pencil. When it was finished I used a rectangle die to cut a frame out about a 1/4 inch from the edge. I mounted the frame on dimension tape and the rest of the card flat on a white card base. Looking at it now, I think it needs a few sequins added to it.

Happy Birthday Uncle Bruce
Today is my uncles 69th birthday. Yesterday my two aunts and I went to the Home that he is in for a visit. We took him out to Tim Horton's to get him a birthday treat. Just like a kid, he was told not to drink his ice cap fast. Did he listen, no ended up with a brain freeze. He's such a flirt, waving at all the ladies.
Here is the card I made for him.
I had alot of fun making this card. I started with cutting masking paper to cover the front panel. I used square dies (that I had forgotten I had), to cut a window in the mask. I also used them to make a frame to go around it. The front panel was cut with a new die from MFT. I used distress inks to color the sky, and the clouds. The grass was cut with another new die from MFT. My Viking is also a stamp from MFT. I colored him with prisma pencils and gamsol.

Mini Sets
Morning all. We finally have a break from the heat. We have been dealing with a heat wave here in Ontario. 38C feeling like 45C. It has been so hot I try to stay in the house unless I really need to go out. So I have found a few moments this week to play with some mini stamp and die sets I picked up at Michaels a while back. They contain some layering stamps and each has a die to cut one of the images. I have stamped them all and cut an image of each die to go into my sample binders. Cutting out extras to add to cards. That will be the goal for this week. To make a card for each set.
Really looking forward to the treats set. I can see some glitter being used. Well enjoy your weekend.

Congrats on your little Nugget
Good evening blogland. Well alot has been going on at work lately. They finally approved to have another full time position for the CSM's. I have been waiting for about a year and half for this position. And after almost a week of keeping it quiet, I am putting it out there. I got the position. Yah!!! Finally full time.
My card today was made for an associate that I work close with. Our Lead CSM is expecting. It's so exciting watching her belly grow. Remembering the birth of my kids. It has just been a short time since we found out she was leaving on mat leave. Thinking she was 5 months when she announced it at work to only find out a few days later that she was 7 months. So out came my crochet hook to get a sweater done before she left. Today was her last day. Taking two weeks holidays then into mat leave. I am going to miss her for the next year. We work so well together.
Megan has a little farm. Turkeys, chickens, and her baby porkchop the pig that lives in the house with them. So when I thought of making a card for her I pulled out my new set from 'lawn fawn', 'critters on the farm'.
Here is everything, getting ready to start. I actually had a great time making this card. I believe it is the first actual scene card I have made.
And here is the finished card. I had so much fun cutting out the cute little images. I used colored cardstock for most of them, and added extra colors with markers and distress ink. The sheep I used fabric paint stippled on to give it texture. The pigs collar although very small has porkchops name on it. The card was then signed by alot of the associates at the store. I went in today on my day off when they were giving it to her. What a surprise it was.

Welcome to your New Home
Hello everyone. I hope everyones week is going fine. After the weekend we had, I am enjoying the grey skies. The whole weekend was either freezing rain or snow. Not just one go round of each but multiple. I can not wait for winter to be over.
The other day I whipped up a 'new home' card before heading into work. A co-worker has just moved into a new apartment. I wanted her to know I was thinking of her on her big moving adventure.
I found the black letters in my stash, and adheared them to my card. The house was stamped right onto the card and colored with prisma color pencils. I used a white gel pen to add to the letters and house, and scattered a few sequins.
She was so touched by the card. Made me feel good to put a smile on her face. We will have coffee next week, so I can see her new place.

Hoping you Perk up Soon
Evening blogland. I have managed to finish three cards. I've been playing with my new stamp from My Favorite Things. The Pure Innocence Steeped in Love stamp was so much fun to color. I used my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol.
Card #1
I matched her dress to the card base. Blew the dust off a border punch, and used it on a piece of patterned paper. Added a few sequins.
Card #2
This one I used the matching die to cut the image in the front of the card. Placing the card in my Misti I placed the stamp into the cutout area and stamped with black ink, so that the image is stamped on the inside of the card. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front.
Card #3
The purple pattern paper was embossed with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Create a Flower (which you can't see in the picture). I added sparkly ribbon that I found at the dollar store, and some dots of liquid pearls. The card front was added to a white card base.
Next cards in progress are Easter. Shopping at the Dollar Tree the other day I found some Easter stickers, glitter paper, and glitter ribbon. These will be used to make cards for our family since I didn't send off the Christmas cards. I still have the kids school pictures that have to be delivered before they are a year old.

Waiting for Spring
Good evening blogland. My coloring supplies are feeling a little neglected lately. I feel like I'm expanding my collection but am afraid to use them. I have a nice assortment of colors in Tombow Markers, water color paints, and a beautiful set of Prisma color pens that I received for Christmas. I sit and watch hours of videos of people coloring, wishing I could do that too. But afraid to jump in there. So lately I've been trying different mediums. I'm getting the hang of blending pencil crayons. Water color was not bad. But the Tombow Markers I had the most fun with. Yesterday I colored a flower background. Now I'm not the quickest (it took me all day). But I really enjoyed it. I even managed to make it into a very simple card.
Ta da!
Nice bright colored flowers, makes me think of spring. Once again our weather has turned mild. Above 0 during the day. Rain is taking the snow away again. Which does not bother me.
Going through my emails tonight I noticed the new Simon Says Challenge is make a background. What luck.
until next time

Feeling Crappy
Good day blogland. There have been quit a few illnesses going around this winter. I have managed to avoid them all, even though my son has brought many home. Until this week. Head cold. Bad timing. Good thing, I am past the contagious stage thankfullly. I am going to visit my daughter at college for an overnight. I know it has only been a month since she was home at Christmas, but that seems so long ago. Looking forward to mother daughter time.
My cousin has been sick too. He has had walking pneumonia. So I thought he would get a kick out of the 'Holy Crap' stamp set from Repeat Impressions.
I had fun with this one. Making the scene with die cuts, and coloring the outhouse with pencil crayons.
thanks for peeking in

Peach Flowers
Morning blogland. I finally assembled the card I had colored for "the 30 Day Color Challenge" over at The Daily Marker. Kathy was calling with Sharpie markers. I thought to myself 'I must try this'. She makes it look so easy. I have tried alcohol markers again and again. But I never like the result. My markers dried up and I ended up throughing them out. But I do have a pile of Sharpies and Bic markers. So I pulled them out, blew the dust off, and wow I'm impressed. Not bad.
Very simple. I stamped my image on a card panel. Colored with Sharpie markers. I found a piece of pattern paper in my stash that matched the color of the flowers, and cut a rectangle out where my flower would be. With the same die cut I made a frame out of white cardstock and inked the edge with vintage photo distress ink. Placing the frame on foam dimentions. The thanks was cut three times and stacked ontop of one another to add more dimention. Just a little finishing touch I added lemon chiffon liquid pearls to the centre of the flowers.
It's a good day to craft. I don't go into work till later this afternoon. It's rainy outside. We've had a warm system for almost a week. Most of our snow has disappeared from the rain. We have had several days of freezing rain warnings which causes the school buses to be cancelled. My boy is having a five day weekend today. He thinks it's great but exams start in two days, so they are missing out on their exam review.

Gotta Love the Courier Guy
Evening everyone. I have managed to spend more time crafting lately. A couple of hours in the evenings. And it's always inspirational to get new supplies.
When I saw the Norce Man from My Favorite Things Stamps I knew I had to have him, and the matching die. And you just can't order one. You have to make the shipment worthwhile. Here is my little package that was delivered by courier today.
Maybe I will get a chance to color this big guy tomorrow.

Merry Christmas Walmart Peeps
Morning blogland peeps. This past week I have been busy making cards for co-workers. I am a Customer Service Manager (CSM) at Walmart. I supervise the cashiers, customer service desk and self checkouts. This year I decided to make cards for all my peeps plus a few more that help out on the front end. Fifty-five cards in all.
I started by cutting out all the card bases and front panels. I stamped my image on white cardstock. Here I am stamping the snowman image from the card onto the envelope with versa mark.
I them layered my image panel onto a color panel and added the word 'merry' to the snowballs above the snowman.
After coloring the hat, mittens and scarf with color pencils, I put the panel onto the card base. Then adding stickles to the snow, wink of stella to the hat, mittens and scarf, and glaze pen to his coal parts. Here they are layed out to dry. (Some had to be put onto hubbies desk. Glad he wasn't home to see.)
And here is my finished card. It took me all morning to sign and add names to the envelopes. But most have already been delivered, and I will gradually catch everyone else this week.
Today will be spent finishing my cards for family and friends. I know I will probably miss the mailing deadline, but that is typical for me. Who doesn't like receiving a Christmas card in the New Year.

Emboss Resist
Morning blogland. There was a time a few years ago that our internet was a bell hub. This ment that we were very limited on what we could do. The biggest no no was videos (using up to much of our limited data). I saved all the videos I wanted to watch. So now that we have unlimited internet I am slowly going back to catch up on some technique videos. This week I have managed to produce two cards.
Using my background stamp I heat embossed with white powder. I then took distress inks and blended the background. Wiping with a dry towel when finished to brighten up the white emboss. Then I cut out the front panel with a scalloped die. Placing the card base with the cut front panel in my Misti I positioned my flower stamp, removing the front panel before stamping. The image was colored with pencil crayons. I added little yellow pearls to the centre of the flowers and a little jute bow to the stems. The sentiment was cute with a die three times and layered altogether to make them dimentional.
Thanks for stopping by. And hope you enjoy my little creations.

A Walk in the Woods
Good evening blog friends. I'm very pleased with how tonights card turned out. I don't use dies very often, but have been buying a few lately, hoping to combine them into my cards.
I started by stamping the deer with versa mark and heat embossing with brown. I then mad a mask for the deer and the moon, and inked the background with distress ink. Distress ink was used on the trees. Another die was used for the grass along the bottom.

Best Family Day Weekend
Good evening blog peeps. Well, my four day weekend has almost come to an end. It has been the best, most relaxing four days with the family. Quality time with my son and daughter, as well as hubbie. Even had fun with Maxwell.
Saturday my son went out for pizza to celebrate one of his friends birthdays. He asked for a birthday card for a teen. My stock is very low on everything so it was off to the craft table.
This is what I came up with.
I finaly used the silver tape hubbie gave me, and a set of new dies. It was a hit.

Believe
Good morning everyone. Chilly morning here with the temperature dropping to -11. I hope all my American friends and bloggers had their fill of turkey yesterday. Happy Thanksgiving. And happy shopping today, if you are out getting the Black Friday Sales.
Today is a finish up and pack up day for me. Tomorrow is the craft sale I've been working so hard to get ready for. I think I'm loosing my helper though. She informed me yesterday that there is an "Event" happening in Star Wars this weekend and she has to play. She can't even spare a few hours to help her poor mother. I'm going to keep on her though. She'll be there.
The stamp I used on this card is one I picked up when the Craft Nook closed down this year. I love the look of this Santa and finally had to ink him up. I choose to do a monochromatic card.
