4 out of 5 complete

Hi all. This is my last night in the big city. One more day of class and I head up the hiway home. Dispite my fears at the beginning it has turned out to be a good week. I have met alot of different people and become close friends with afew. I will miss them after tomorrow. I have even managed to drive use around shopping, Grant you it's still on the same street as the motel.

Last night we were able to relax. The end of the first section, and the test was written. What a releaf. I passed. I spent the evening coloring a card. So relaxing.

This is a one layer card. I stamped the images right onto the card base.  I colored it with prisma pencils.

Here We Go Again

Evening everyone. I have a get well card to share today. I'm posting it to myself. Almost 25 years ago, just after I met hubbie. I had TMJ surgery. One day I sneezed and the little piece of cartledge in the jaw fell out of place. After many months of not being able to open my mouth far, do anything that involved using the facial muscle, or eat anything other than mush. I had surgery to stitch that little piece of cartledge back into place. Things have been great. Until about a month ago. Home from work for dinner, enjoying a Big Mac with hubbie. Two bites to go, and crack. Oh that really hurt. And here we go again.

Today I had an appoint with a TMJ specialist. Damage can be seen in the xray, but to what extent he is unsure. So to start he gave me medrol, a steriod to help with the pain. And cyclobenzaprine to take at night to relax the muscle. I have to get more movement in order to have a new night guard molded. After that he will evaluate again for surgery. Which will mean a long wait for an MRI appointment so the surgen can see if there is enough cartledge left to repair. Here's hoping.

Enough of that. Lets get to the card.

This is the second attempt at these cards. I had to trash the first ones. After making some mistakes and learning the properties of some of my markers and inks, these two turned out pretty good. I embossed the images with black embossing powder, then colored them in with prisma color pencils. A little inking around the edges and done. Very simple.

Hoping you Perk up Soon

Evening blogland.  I have managed to finish three cards. I've been playing with my new stamp from My Favorite Things. The Pure Innocence Steeped in Love stamp was so much fun to color. I used my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol.

Card #1

I matched her dress to the card base.  Blew the dust off a border punch, and used it on a piece of patterned paper.  Added a few sequins.

Card #2

This one I used the matching die to cut the image in the front of the card.  Placing the card in my Misti I placed the stamp into the cutout area and stamped with black ink, so that the image is stamped on the inside of the card.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front.

 Card #3

The purple pattern paper was embossed with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Create a Flower (which you can't see in the picture).  I added sparkly ribbon that I found at the dollar store, and some dots of liquid pearls.  The card front was added to a white card base.

Next cards in progress are Easter.  Shopping at the Dollar Tree the other day I found some Easter stickers, glitter paper, and glitter ribbon.  These will be used to make cards for our family since I didn't send off the Christmas cards.  I still have the kids school pictures that have to be delivered before they are a year old.

Feeling Crappy

Good day blogland. There have been quit a few illnesses going around this winter. I have managed to avoid them all, even though my son has brought many home. Until this week. Head cold. Bad timing. Good thing, I am past the contagious stage thankfullly. I am going to visit my daughter at college for an overnight. I know it has only been a month since she was home at Christmas, but that seems so long ago. Looking forward to mother daughter time.

My cousin has been sick too. He has had walking pneumonia. So I thought he would get a kick out of the 'Holy Crap' stamp set from Repeat Impressions.

I had fun with this one. Making the scene with die cuts, and coloring the outhouse with pencil crayons.

thanks for peeking in

10th Annual Langford Cemetary Heritage Day

Good evening everyone.  It has been a wonderful Sunday.  I don't get many as I work every weekend.  But as the end of the month falls on a weekend I was able to spend the day with my family.  I was also able to visit with many friends and family at the annual Heritage Day at the cemetery.  It is the only cemetery in town that is still run by the community.  Once a year we have a cleaning bee, were everyone gathers for a morning to rake, pick up fallen branches and just tidey.  The grass is kept cut by a neighbour.  The whole thing is run on donations, and community involvement.

This week our little tractor went in to have a bucket put on.  The yard is not safe now.  Today it took the whole family to put the mower deck back on.  It takes literally two minutes to take the bucket off, and an hour to get the mower deck on.  But now our grass is cut.

My card tonight was made special for a good friend.  She had hernia surgery this week. I got inky with this one.  Playing with my distress inks is one of my favorite techniques.

Feel Better Soon

Good evening blog friends.  Our warm weather has finally arrived.  What a beautiful few days we have had.  With a bit of rain last week, everything is greening up nicely.  Tomorrow I get to enjoy the sun, since I've been working all week.  Although grocery shopping and errands are on the list tomorrow.  I am looking forward to coffee with my girlfriend in the afternoon.

I saw this card in a Cardmaker Magazine.  I thought what a great card to use for a masculine card.  One of my sons classmates had a horrible accident on the weekend.  Falling into a campfire, and receiving second degree burns.  Hopefully this will put a little smile on his face.  We're all thinking about you Nick.

keep smiling

Beautiful Sunshine

Well the beautiful weather we've been having for the last couple weeks has inspired the color of my card.  Today we were a balming 29C.  And I hear we're in for snow next week.

I actually card lifted this one.  I love the simplicity of Kelley Eubanks cards. She does beautiful work. Her blog is My Front Porch, check it out.

monochromatic

Happy Sunday everyone.  It's been a relaxing day. Blogging, cardmaking, watching TV with the kids.  And tomorrow, Family Day.  A payed holiday to stay home with the family.  Sam told her dad that he had to spend the day with us and not playing his game all day.  We are taking the kids to see the Journey.

I had to try out my new stamp.  Love everything in it.  The script, flowers and butterflies.  I stamped it a second time on blue cardstock with versa ink, and embossed with white.  Then cut it out.  Mounted it over the original on the stamped image, leaving one wing unattached so it will stand up. The strips in the background were stamped with a script stamp in dark blue ink.

Get Well!!

Afternoon everyone.  I finally sat down and made a card today.  Although it is a very simple one.  I get to turn the wi-fi back on today, so I can use my tablet again.  That means I can start doing challenges again.  I save all the info on there so it's right in front of me at my work area.  Not having it handy has been awful.

I started with the stamped image.  This is one I picked up at the Garage Sale last weekend.  I colored it with regular pencil crayons.  Cut it out and stamped the sentiment.  Mounted it on foam dots to give the card some dimention.  On the card I used versa mark to stamp the feathers.  I forgot how nice and suttle the feathers make for a background.  I haven't used them for awhile.

Hope to get more done this weekend.  My dad placed an order for a few, seems he's running out of his stash.

Happy Friday

Afternoon everyone.  What a busy morning.  Collecting cardboard boxes for the school.  Now they have to be cut into strips to cover the shelves at the coat racks.  All the memeory pictures will be set on top.

The stamped piece was one that was done at our scrap weekend.  Tracey had them stamped and ebossed in white, and she demonstrated how to use distress inks to color it.  I made this card for Card Patterns-Sketch 59.
Here is the sketch.

Summers Here

Summer is finely here. We have had several days of hot sunny weather. Its about time. Two days of school left. Sam's not happy. She likes school and seeing all her friends. Grant I think will miss it too. He needs the structure, and consistancey to keep him focused.

Randy liked this card the last time, but the last one crap happens, just didn't fit this time. So I remade him one with get well on instead.

Don't know how much card making I will get done in the next couple of weeks. Getting ready for holidays next Thursday. And we remodeling our house, which is taking forever, because we are doing the work when we have time. So we just got rid of a huge sectional couch in the basement tonight to make room . The first wall that will go up is for a storage space which is the back wall of my new work area. So a coment was made that I had to confine my craft stuff to make room for building.

Chat later

Have a great day :)

Sad bears

When I saw these bears I thought of a get well card. They look soo sad. Randy needed a get well card for a student in his office, and I just had to use this one. I think it turned out quite well.
It rained all day yesterday, but today the sun is shinning. It will be a nice day to have a BBQ for Father's Day. We just need dad to come home. He went to a stag last night(for the wedding we're going to England for), and he hasn't made his way back home yet. I imagine they got little sleep last night.

crap happens

Here is another get well card I've done. This one didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped, I think I have to fix the strings on the broken balloons hanging down. It just doesn't look right.

I was looking for a birthday card for my cousin. Which will be late. I discovered I don't have many birthday cards. Then when I did find one I liked for her there was no verse in it. Good thing I've printed extra verses to have on hand.

I'm off to work soon. After a quick stop at walmart. Grant needs a smaller dump truck to take to school for the sand box. All he has is small dinky car size or his big Tonka. So this morning he packing off with his big one in a Metro shopping bag.

Have a great day =)

Last week Randy asked for a get well card for a co-worker. I saw one like this on splitcoast stampers site. This is my version.
