365 cards challenges

Happy Saturday.  Hope everyone is warm.  Chilly here, and very high winds.  Last night was snowing and high winds, made for an iteresting drive home.
I was thrilled to see 365 Cards this week.  A whole week of sketchs.  My fav. Although I only managed to squeeze in to challenges.  I'll save the rest for future reference.  My first is for Day 353- Wednesday Sketch.  This is a new stamp I picked up the other day.  I inked with distress ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then colored with distress inks.  Covered one of the flowers with a mesh and silk flower held on with a brad.  The dots on the paper are dotted with glossy accents to make them stand out.
This card is for Day 352-Tuesday Sketch.
While I was shopping at the Craft Nook the other day, Lilian pointed out to me Magic Stamp.  Wonderful.  I had to try it when I got home.  So I tried with this stamp.

Here is the magic stamp.  You just heat it with your heat gun, and press your stamp into it.
Here is the image I came up with.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
DH is planning a night in the hot tub.  Hope I don't turn into an icile on the way to it.

Flu Season

Just home from the doctors with my germ factories.  Grant started last Thursday, and just seems to be getting worse not better.  Now we have antibiotics for him, and he can't go back to school till next week.  Hopefully rest and quiet at home and he'll get better.  Sam is complaining about upset stomach and dizzyness.  She's been home since Tuesday.

Card recipe:
cardstock, versa mark, black emboss powder, silk flowers, i-Rock gems, br. cats eye ink.

I had fun trying out my new i-Rock.  It will take a bit to figure out how long to heat each stone.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day to everyone out there.  Just a quick post before we head out to the Fireworks.  We have never taken the kids to see them, so this should be fun.

I've had this card all put together and waiting for the sentiment on the front.  I'm not big on doing things on the computer, it always me so long to print anything out.  I've had some problems with my Word program not printing.  Last night I discovered that the lazer printer was not the default printer, that somehow it had gone to the photo printer.  Switched it back and here we are.  Card finished.

The great sentiment is from Sentimental Sundays, where every week they have free sentiments to download.  So great.

Challenges are:
Sentimental Sundays-#9-Encouragement & Support
Card Patterns-#70

Here is the sketch.

Lost those creative juices

I've had a hard time lately not only with time to card make but the motivation.  Last night I managed to create two cards.  Although one was a real struggle.  After change numerous parts of it, I still not sure I like it.  But DH thinks its OK.
This one I made as a Fathers Day card, since its creeping up fast.  It follows Card Patterns Sketch 67.  It also is for Cupcake Craft Challenges #94-Dazzle Us-to use something sparkly on your project.  I uses a green gem on the dragonfly head and pearls by the grasses.

I liked this sketch so much I made two cards with it.  This one is for:
Card Patterns Sketch 67
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #115-A color combo-black, blue, orange
Caardvarks June Challenge-wet or dry embossing
Cupcake Craft Challenges #94-Dazzle Us-use something sparkly on your project.

First long weekend

Afternoon everyone.  This week I've been working on Project 12.  I've already gotten my May done.  Last night I whipped up this card for Card Patterns Sketch 64.  I just love this stamp from Hero Arts, it's so springy, with the bird and flowers.  And I found the flowered paper in my scrap bin.

Everyone enjoy your weekend, I at least get Sunday off.

Enjoy the Day

Morning everyone.  I have accomplished quit a bit this week.  Here is  card I did yesterday.  I love this stamp, it is the sweetest.  I now have my own background stamp, so I can make as many backgrounds as I want.  I love this background by Hero Arts.  After stamp embossing you can color it with Distress Inks any color to match your project.
This card is for Little Red Wagon #28-Brads.  I used an old sketch from Card Patterns-sketch 47.

Have a great day

Happily Ever After

Hello everyone.  It's been a while since I've been able to post.  But over the last couple of nights I managed to put this card together.  Isn't this stamp the cutest.
Using Distress Ink, I inked the background using a Spellbinders template.  The flowers down the side are inked on using the backing from some sticky ribbon I used on a layout as a template.  The pink strip was stamped using a words background and then I punched the border.  The flower is just three different sizes cut from a cuttlebug die and put together with a brad.

This card was done for:
Little Red Wagon- (Missed the deadline)-Pink & Green
Card Patterns- Sketch 63
Here is the sketch.

Last day school

This morning was very emotional for me. Today was the last day of school, and the awards assembley at the kids school. My daughter recieved an award called the Evan Luker Award. It is an achievement award given to a boy and girl in grade 4. Evan was a boy that went to their school about 20 years ago and was killed in a car accident. His parents set up the award to be presented every year to a boy and girl in grade 4. The Lukers still go to the school every year to present the students with the award. Its such an honor to have Sam receive this award. Makes us feel like we're doing something right with her. She really loves school and doesn't want summer vacation.

This card is one that I whipped up the other night to go in the card box for Sam's teacher. You can't tell in the picture, but the tulip is alittle shiney. It's painted with a new product I found called glass bead gel. You can add color to it, or as I did just left it and let it dry clear over the stamped image. It tiny glass beads in a gel.

Have a great day

Pretty flowers

This is another card I made at the card class. It is an outline sticker and colored in with pencil crayons.

Tonight I have to finish up the kids teacher gifts. I finally found the writing pads I was looking for. Samantha can't finish hers till the end of the week. We scored her piece of paper wrong, (also did it on mine too.) The store won't have the color in till this week.

Have a great evening :)
