Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope you all have a joyous day tomorrow.

Good afternoon everyone. As I sit here at the dining room table, I look up to this beautiful sunset. What a beautiful picture. It's been a long day. Since today was our day for the teachers strike, all elementary schools were closed. Sleep in, yah. Not, Fedex shows up knocking at the door at 8am to deliver a package I ordered to my daughter. Now because she was here she now's I ordered from her long list of on-line Christmas presents. Doctors appointment for a check up. Shopping for Christmas gifts with the little guy. He managed to find something for his sister and dad. When we got home he had a friend over for the afternoon. We replaced the wood chips in the lizard tank to carpeting. Made chocolate chip cookies for the bake table at the badminton tournament on Saturday. A few loads of laundry thrown in. Hubbies been away for a couple days and will be home later tonight. So dinner is fend for yourself. Leftover night. And early to bed.

It's been a sad weekend at our house. Friday evening we had to make the decision to put our dear Fenn to sleep. It's been a long struggle to try to heal her. Trying everything, pills, cream, food change. There was nothing else to do. Her hole just would not close up. And finally when I could see it getting smaller for the first time in a long time, it blew open again. There was nothing else for us to do. You could see she was in pain again. She is now at peace in the side yard, watching over her family. And she will always be in our hearts.
Evening everyone. Here it is Saturday night, and two more sleeps till I have to go back to work. A week goes so quickly. And I have accomplished nothing. Relaxed and had alot of me time. Babysat my little man's new lizard. He is the proud owner of a baby leopard gecko. I didn't realize when I was researching that you had to feed the food too. Finally today we got him to eat for the first time. I think I'm as interested in the lizard as my son.
Wednesday I went to a card class at the local craft store. We completed 10 cards in 5 hours. What a rush. Last night I did some finishing touches to them that I didn't have time for at the class. It was a very enjoyable day. Catching up with an old friend, learning new techniques, and brushing up on some old ones.
Here's a look at my cards.

Evening everyone. Well, my boy didn't get overly dirty yesterday. I managed to see his race. He was near the back of the pack, but not dead last. Very proud of him for going for the day.
Whipped up a quick card tonight. Inked up my stamping block with two colors of ink, and spritzed with water. Stamping on watercolor paper. Then using black ink stamped Santa . Love these easy cards.

Evening all. So I made it final, I bit the bullet and signed up for the craft sale in November. I've done this show for several years now, and between my cards and painted Christmas ornamentsdo not bad. But I have no Christmas cards left from last year, so have alot of work ahead of me. I made progress tonight. Thought I'd start with some tags. I do need some help. I stamped the trees with green distress ink and want to color the trunks brown. Thought markers would work well, but what kind? I have sharpies, identi pens, and spectrum noir. Or would pencil crayons work better? Any suggestions out there?

Good evening everyone. Hope you all have had a good week. This is the last long weekend of the summer. A very busy time in our town. The last weekend to spend at the cottage before the kids are back in school. This one I'm sitting out. Spending some much needed time with the family. And getting the kids ready for school. Yesterday we were off to Orillia for some clothes shopping. My two favorite stores are now side by side there. Value Village and Payless Shoes. A quick stop at the mall for hubbie, add Sam discovered a new store there. Ardenes. They have expanded to a larger store, with clothing and accessories. It was hard to drag her out of there.
A quick card to show you. Last night I wanted to play with my Pearl Ex. I found a stencil of a Christmas tree and laying it on the blue paper I used versa mark. I then used a stencil brush and pounced the pearl ex where I wanted it on the image. Carefully remove the stencil so as not to get the color all over the paper. And spray a sealer over the image. I then added a few gems just to add to it. Mounted this on red cardstock. I then stamped in red the music background right onto the white card. I then mounted the image onto the card with foam squares.

I've just realized that I hadn't posted the card that I made for the card swap. It was so much fun I've signed up for the next one. Just waiting to hear how many have to be made this time.
On this one I choice to try out my coloring skills with markers. Not bad for a first attempt. This round a border punch must be used.

Good evening everyone. Well holidays are over and I've made it through two days of work. Although it was tough. And I'm looking forward to a day off tomorrow. The upside today, I was able to pick up my Card Swap cards from the Craft Nook. Ohhh how exciting. Sitting down to see what everyone has been working on. We have alot of talented ladies around here. I'd like to share them with you.

One week down, one to go. How time flies when your having fun. Lots of outside work getting done. We spent a day in Toronto shopping for a day. Oh so much walking. Some crafting getting done. Although I find the kids go to bed so late now, I don't have time for me time before I'm off to bed. But I have managed to finish a pair of socks that I started in the winter.

Evening everyone. Holidays are going great. So far I've done nothing but relax, and laundry. Yesterday was spent sitting outside reading. It was an overcast day with a few sprinkles of rain here and there. But our little sitting area is a cluster trees and I didn't feel a drop.
What a glorious day today. Nice sunshine, warm weather without the humidity. The perfect day to work in the backyard. Hubbie dismantled the race track and rebuilt it. I guess you can't run the same track every year. I was surprised how quick it went. He and Grant pulled up the pipe and rearranged it, while Sam and I raked and weeded it. Since we haven't had much rain it is really dry and you can't race on it. So it will take a day of watering and rolling it smooth, and it's ready to go.
Here is a pic of the new patio beside the race track. We used the table for the first time there tonight. Farther from the house to carry everything, but it doesn't get the sun that the other patio does.
Must get working on my cards. I have till the 18th to have my swap cards finished.

Hello everyone. Here I am, just after midnight, my first day of vacation. So looking forward to some family time. Hubbie has been on holidays for a week now, and I get to join him for two weeks. So looking forward to the time at home. Stress free. After working a very busy long weekend I'm ready. And to start it off today I was stung by a wasp.
Never be the look out for the man poking the wasp nest with a stick. They have crawled under the top edge of the hot tub and made a nest. After weeks of spraying there has been no activity, with lots of dead wasps on the ground. Today we decide to pull the panel off the side of the hot tub to get at the nest. Panel off, nothing seems to be happening. Man takes stick to remove nest, wasp appears from nowhere. Right at me, bit me right through my shirt on the arm. Holy crap did that hurt. Let me tell you, he was on his own to spray it again.
Well, watching a bit more of the Olympics since I don't have to get up in the morning.

Evening everyone. What a way to get back into a project. Our local card store is having their first card swap. I thought, what the heck, I can do this. Just got the official e-mail, nine people signed up. That's right, I have to make nine cards all the same. Fun, looking forward to seeing the variety of cards I will get back. It's also giving me a chance to play with my new spectrum noir markers. I've chosen a stamp to color in. After the coloring is done I'm not sure what I'll do. I'll get back to you.

Evening everyone. Here it is 10:30 again tonight and I'm sitting down to post. What a great day it has been. Up early for a cleaning job, dentist appointment, home in time for lunch. Then off to the beach with the kids. We have been having great weather. My favorite is after dinner on the front porch with my tea and a good book, with the evening sun shining on me. What a glorious life.
And for the second night in a row I've managed to make a card. Relaxing playing with the inks. Tonights card was started by inking on a stamping block, spritzing with water and stamping it on watercolor paper. I then used the same colors and stamped the grasses. The dragonfly was stamped in black ink. A few pearls were added. I really enjoy these one layer cards.

I want to start by wishing all my Canadian blog friends a happy Canada Day. And to all my American friends a happy July 4th.
Last night we went out to town to watch the fireworks. What an amazing time we had as a family. Sitting on the hard ground joking laughing. Sam took tons of pictures, even got a few amazing shots. When we got home DH took Sam down to the computer and made her an account on Star Wars. Right now the two of them are down there playing together and have been for several hours. Now I've lost them both to Star Wars.
While my dear family was playing computer games I was making cards. I needed three flat cards to send in the mail. I have been admiring the one layer cads that Heather Telford at bits & pieces makes. cardz.wordpress.com So I had to try my hand at one (actually three in different colors). They were made special for family. A cousin that I had met a couple times when I was young, passed away suddenly last week. So the cards will be in the mail tomorrow. And my thoughts will be the entire family in their time of grief.

It's hard to believe that the school year has come to an end. Tomorrow is the last day of school. Teachers gifts are made, and cards completed. I decided to keep the cards simple, as I left them till tonight to make. And with having four to make. Grant has a teacher and an EA, Sam has two teachers that shared the grade 7 class this year. Sam and her girlfiend also made up a special basket of gifts for one teacher, as she is retiring this year. So there will be no bus ride in the morning. Thankfully I'm off, and can drive them with all their gifts, and bring home all the projects that cant fit on the bus.

Well I guess I can say morning to everyone. It's just after midnight and getting a quick post in before I hit the sheets. Just wanted to share the happenings in my craft room this weekend. It has turned into school project central. Both kids have major projects due this week. Sam has been working for weeks on hers. They started out months ago designing their dream home. Plans were made, lots of resourcing on costs of everything from mortgages to contents of the house. Then the model was made. The last couple of weeks she has been madely working with dad to build her house out of foam core. The inside even has to be decorated. She's not only using my space but I'm watching my paper supply going down, as it's turned into flooring and wall coverings. Couches have been made from my clay. One more night to work on it.
The little guys project was started tonight. Ancient Egypt. He's decided to do King Tuts Tomb. So I constructed a pyramid that will open up to reveal the treasures inside. Meanwhile I had the little guy constructing King Tut for the outside of the pyramid.
Off to bed, 6:30 comes early.

Evening everyone. A little time to relax before bed. I'm really having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Late nights, early mornings, working, cleaning, kids. But we have to keep going.
A couple nights ago I was playing with the silhouette making window frames for my daughters dream house she is making for a school project. The scale is in metric, the silhouette in inches. Thought I did a good job converting, but when hubbie cut out the windows last night, I ended up cutting them out again. This time I made him give me the measurements. She has till Tuesday to finish a model of a three storey house, made from foam core. Dad doesn't have much patience with his daughter in this project. I'll post pics when they get it finished.
I have my last wedding card to show you. And have to get busy on more cards. I blew the dust off this stamp. Choosing to color only the flowers with my new markers to match the purple mat.
