Three little Christmas Trees

Good afternoon peeps.  What a windy cold day we are having here in Muskoka.  I had physio today for my foot.  First time since I was done work.  We were hoping that being off my feet a little more it would improve.  But that's not the case.  It's better, but not totally, so we're trying an aggressive approach again.  Going every week.  After two years of pain, something has to work.

I have two cards to post today, because I couldn't get the use of the computer yesterday.  Seems it was a Star Wars day for both daughter and hubbie.

This is a simple card.  Stamped and them I restamped a few times onto decorative paper. Cutting out the trees.  Also adding some stickles onto them, and some for the snow hills.

CHALLENGES
Christmas Card Challenges - #50 Sketch (last week)
                                                #51 Bling
Crafty Cardmakers - #104 Paper Piece
Creative Knockouts - #11 Sparkle

Second up is this cute little gingerbread man, with his sassy saying from Graphicats.  I love monochromatic cards.  This one just pops at you with all the red.  I'm finally getting into the holiday spirit.  I added some perfect pearls mist to give him a bit of a sparkle. And some fabric paint for his icing, and stickles for his buttons.

CHALLENGES
CSAYL - #42 - Stripes
Freshly Made Sketches - #112
Whimsy Inspires - #65 - anything goes

I have another card for later, it still has to be scanned.  Now off to the craft table for more creating before the family arrives home.

Snow Day

Afternoon everyone.  Well the storm hit us last night.  I thought it was farther south and we wouldn't get hit, but I was wrong.  Woke up this morning to a snow storm, and buses cancelled.  Which was too bad.  I had taken the day off to go curling with my daughters class.  She is more worried about the test she is to have tomorrow, and not bring her book home to study.

I would like to thank the wonderful ladies at the Craft Nook.  They wrote very nice words about me in the weekly newsletter.  They have also started their own blog for the store, and my Project 12 December Layout is featured there.  You can check them out HERE.  Thanks again ladies for all you hard work and inspiration.

Todays card was alot of fun to complete.  I've done many different techniques on it.

Cold Weather Here to Stay

Holy crap it's COLD.  -27 this morning when I went off to work.  I didn't see it get over -22 today, and right now it's back down to -27.  Can only image what it will be by morning.  Baked some cupcakes this afternoon, having the oven on just added more heat in the house.

My card today is one layer.  What a challenge, but I had fun with this one.  I started by stamping the flower in the center, and stamping it again on a piece of plain paper, to cut out for a mask. I then placed the mask over the flower and stamped the script with frayed burlap distress ink.  Before removing the mask I distressed around the flower with tumbled glass distress ink. I then removed the mask, and colored in with pencil crayons.  And stamped the Thank you with black ink.

First & Latest

Evening everyone.  Busy Sunday.  Work, then had to rush Sam to the clinic before they closed.  Her throat was still soar today.  Strep Throat was the diagnosis.  So everyone is staying away from her and spraying down everything she touches, poor girl.
What a great challenge Crafty Card Makers is having.  Challenge #36-First & Latest or Greatest.
This is the first card I put onto my blog when it was started two years ago.  It is actually one of my favs.
And this one is the latest one on my blog.  The first card for 2011.

Great challenge guys.  Loved it.

Remembrance Day

I did make it home in time to do a quick post before I'm off to basketball and swimming.  Supper is made and just waiting for the little ones.  I hope everyone has taken just a few moments to reflect today on Remembrance Day.

I discovered last night that I can't craft while that nice new stove is blasting heat on me.  Just way to hot to sit right beside it.  One more reason to push for my new craft area.  Anyway, here is the card I managed to finish.
The red is embossed with a flower embossing folder.  A piece of gold ribbon tied around, and Deck the Halls stamped along it.  The image is outline gold sticker colored in with watercolor pencils.  My fav to color with.
It fits two challenges:

Oh Christmas Tree

Happy Sunday everyone.  Hope your having a great weekend.  I'm posting my card quickly before I run out for a concert tonight.  My aunt had nobody to go see Michelle Wright with, so I agreed to go.  Should be good, it's an acoustic show.
On to my card.  I'm stuck on Christmas cards.  This is for Crafty Card Makers-Fancy Folds.
I just recently purchased Card Makers Magazine all on folds.  There are some cool folds in there.  This one caught my eye, and I had the perfect paper to use inside.
When opened up it looks like a Christmas tree.  You can't see in the picture, but I put glossy accents on the wreaths, and the scallopped dots I dotted with red, green, and crystal stickles.  That really defines the tree.

Have a great end to your weekend.

Rain Rain Go Away

Fall is definately here.  Rain, cold, grey skies.  At least the rain held off last week when I was away with my daughters grade 6 class at Yearly.  An outdoor education centre.  What an amazing place.  Two days of learning about the outdoors and survival.
On to card stuff.
My patterned paper and cat are downloaded from Do Crafts. (Daisy & Dandelion)  The spiderweb is embossed with a cuttlebug folder, and cut into three.

There were two cats on the page, so I had to make them both.
