Hearts and Romance

We're into a deep freeze here.  More snow and freezing cold.  It's -30C with the wind chill.  My car door freezes up and won't close when its this cold, so I have to enter from the passenger side.  Today I left the lights on while I was at work and killed the battery. Had to get DH to come and pick me up, then go back when he was done work to boost it.  What a day.

My card today is for Crafty Cardmakers-challenge #13-Hearts and Romance.  Last week I watched a video on Hero Arts on how to make a butterfly fly off the page.  I thouhgt I'd try it with the hearts use them as flowers.  Not bad.

Fairy Fantastic

Morning everyone.  I'm back on track.  Everyone is off to work and school, and mom gets a relaxing morning at home alone.  My cup of tea and taped episodes of CSI that I haven't had time to watch.  A little blogging and this afternoon off to the school to see my daughters french play.
Last night I was able to complete this card before we sat down to watch Lost.  My card covers two challenges.

Three sample cards

This week I'm trying to get back on track, and maybe get some challenges done.  Last week I was working on a small scrapbook of my grandparents. (It will take a while to complete)  After the death of my gramma last Monday.
Yesterday the local craft store held another demo afternoon, for those that missed the first Heroarts day.  Tracey Kuzniak was on hand to help the ladies with their cards.
I love this stamp, it reminds me of my great uncle for some reason.  I put my order in for this one.  It was stamped with Tim Holtz distress inks.  Which I have never used them for stamping, the few the I own.

This one is so pretty.  The background is stamped, whick normally I would reach for patterned paper.  The flower was spritzed with a mix of water and liquid pearls to give it a little shimmer.

And last, this one is two stamps.  And colored in with ink and some liquid pearls mixed in to give it a shimmer.  I discovered I need to stamp more on my cards.
It was a great demo.  Thanks ladies.

Good Bye gramma

Just a quick post this morning.  I just received a phone call from my aunt to let me now my gramma had passed away this morning.  We knew this was coming, for she had stopped eating a week ago.  She went peacefully in her sleep this morning.  She will be with grampa once again, enjoying the next stage of their life.
You will always be in my thoughts gramma.

Going Girly

Wow, it's taken me a week do get the creativity back to make a card.  All week I've tried, and just stared at the supplies.  So I started knitting the kids socks, and working on a Christmas scrapbook.  Today I came home from work, and said "I'm going to make a card".  Then had to rush to get it posted on here before DH gets on the computer to play a little later.

Todays card is for four challenges.

Happy Valentines

Hello everyone.  Hope your enjoying your weekend.  Just a quick post tonight, before I spend some quiet time with DH.  We've started watching Lost on the DVD, right from the beginning.
My card today covers three challenges.
365 Cards-Day 311-Find a Substitute.  Substitude a word with an image.  This was quite easy with this stamp, because the actual word I replaced with the heart was heart.
Little Red Wagon-Challenge #10-Pin It Up.  I think that says it all.  Use a pin on your project.

Caardvarks-The Challenge. The stetch.  On my card you can't see the vertical lines.  I put a score ling down to some on the hearts.

2 cards 4 challenges

Good morning everyone.  What a morning.  I've been printing pics for my Christmas album, but something kept happening to the  program.  I would get the pic picked and set up to print, and it would tell me there was an error and boot me out of the program.  On top of that I was waiting for the tow truck to pick up DH car (it wouldn't start yesterday), and the truck had a heck of a time getting in the driveway.  Too soft, too narrow, he kept sliding into the snow bank, he's chewed the driveway up I hope we don't get stuck.  The little guy has his appointment today with the pediatritiion, to make sure he's getting all the help he needs at school, and check his progress.
Anyway, I'm back in the groove.  Did two cards last night.  This one is for 365 Cards Day 310-White space.  You were to keep decorations confined to the blacked out area.

Here is the sketch.

This little cutie is for 3 challenges.
Crafty Cardmakers-Challenge #11-Favorite of 2009.  Use your favorite products and/or techniques, new to you this year.  Mine are Tim Holtz Distress Inks, for around the edges of paper.
Cupcake Craft Challenges-Challenge #72-Baby card.
Cute Card Thursday-Challenge #93-Sketchtastic!

Have a wonderful day.

Card Withdrawl

Ahhhh, I can't take it anymore.  Last night I just had to whip up a card.  I've been so good over Christmas being home with the whole family, not spending time at my craft table, other than a little bit of Christmas scrapbooking.  I whipped this card up using Build a Card Pad by Imaginisce.  It came together so quickly. I added the last of my 3D critters that has been floating around on my desk.
I have spent the last two hours going through old e-mails that I have been neglecting.  It's nice to be here all by myself, with no one to interupt.  Most of what I was looking at was scrapbooking stuff, which I'm really trying to do.  Getting all my pics off the computer into albums.  But that takes away from card time.
Well enjoy your day.
