Teachers Gifts
It's hard to believe that the school year has come to an end. Tomorrow is the last day of school. Teachers gifts are made, and cards completed. I decided to keep the cards simple, as I left them till tonight to make. And with having four to make. Grant has a teacher and an EA, Sam has two teachers that shared the grade 7 class this year. Sam and her girlfiend also made up a special basket of gifts for one teacher, as she is retiring this year. So there will be no bus ride in the morning. Thankfully I'm off, and can drive them with all their gifts, and bring home all the projects that cant fit on the bus.

School Trip
Last week was Grant's school trip. It started with a 7:30 departure on a very hot school bus. The temp that day was in the 30's. Two hour bus ride, and the first stop was the Royal Ontario Museum. Fast tour through as we had to be at Medieval Times just after lunch.
What a great afternoon. You are seated in an areana. You eat your dinner (with your hand, no utensils) while watching a display of knights on horseback. Each section is a different color and that is the color of the knight that you cheer for. I came away from there with a soar throat from yelling. It was a awesome time. Kids really enjoyed it.
When we got home it was a big rush to finish Grants Egypt project. As I wasn't home the next night to help him. We ended up finishing it.
The project was to make a diarama from Ancient Egypt. Grant chose to do King Tuts tomb. I made the pyramid for him out of cardstock. Leaving the tip half unattached so it would fold open to reveal the inside. The model outside he made from clay.
Opening the pyramid and looking in you can see the sarcophagus, his jars, and some treasure.
Sam's house she built is back home. So when I get pics of it I'll post.

No Time to Card
Well I guess I can say morning to everyone. It's just after midnight and getting a quick post in before I hit the sheets. Just wanted to share the happenings in my craft room this weekend. It has turned into school project central. Both kids have major projects due this week. Sam has been working for weeks on hers. They started out months ago designing their dream home. Plans were made, lots of resourcing on costs of everything from mortgages to contents of the house. Then the model was made. The last couple of weeks she has been madely working with dad to build her house out of foam core. The inside even has to be decorated. She's not only using my space but I'm watching my paper supply going down, as it's turned into flooring and wall coverings. Couches have been made from my clay. One more night to work on it.
The little guys project was started tonight. Ancient Egypt. He's decided to do King Tuts Tomb. So I constructed a pyramid that will open up to reveal the treasures inside. Meanwhile I had the little guy constructing King Tut for the outside of the pyramid.
Off to bed, 6:30 comes early.

Another Wedding Card
Evening everyone. A little time to relax before bed. I'm really having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Late nights, early mornings, working, cleaning, kids. But we have to keep going.
A couple nights ago I was playing with the silhouette making window frames for my daughters dream house she is making for a school project. The scale is in metric, the silhouette in inches. Thought I did a good job converting, but when hubbie cut out the windows last night, I ended up cutting them out again. This time I made him give me the measurements. She has till Tuesday to finish a model of a three storey house, made from foam core. Dad doesn't have much patience with his daughter in this project. I'll post pics when they get it finished.
I have my last wedding card to show you. And have to get busy on more cards. I blew the dust off this stamp. Choosing to color only the flowers with my new markers to match the purple mat.

60 Years Strong
Update on the dog. She had a check up today. Things are still healing. It takes so long. We continue on the steroids, and have a topical cream on order. I'm hoping the cream is going to speed up the healing now that the hole is not as deep. As for her cone of shame, it's still on. Although we can remove it when she's within eye sight so we can keep an eye on her.
Sixty years of marriage. Can you imagine. I don't think we'll see that very much in my generation. Divorce seems to be the norm right now. I can't believe how many of the kids classmates are in a split family. Me, I can't image life without my hubbie. He is my best friend.
My card tonight is for a request for a 60 Anniversary. Diamond is the color, so I tried to make the card sparkle. Starting with an outline sticker, I filled in the birds with glossy accents, and sprinkled glitter on it. The flowers were colored with sakura pen to match the matting.

Wedding Bliss
Welome to the weekend. Hope everyone is having better weather than we are. Rain all day, although it is much needed. We have been under a fire ban, it's been so dry. Tomorrow is my Sunday off, and they are calling for sun and a high of 29.
Tonight I'm sitting relaxing with my girl. Catching up on taped episodes of Missing. I'm blogging and she's sketching in her new sketch book.
Here is the second of my cards. A couple weeks ago I picked up the new set of inks from Tim Holtz, trying to motivate myself. I love the colors. Had fun with this one. One of my fav stamps to play with it the polaroid stamp. Adding a simple bride and groom to it. The bouquets were stamped in versa mark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then inked over.

Three Cards Complete
OMG!!! I can't believe how long it's been since I have last posted. Life just seems to be flying by lately. House reno's are going slow. We dive in and get one job done and then slow down and just pick away at it. Dog is slowly getting better. I can't believe how long it takes to heal. She still has her cone of shame on, but hopefully on Monday at her check up we can get rid of that. It's so big she runs into everything with it.
Hubbies computer broke, and after getting it back from the shop decided he was getting a new one. His was passed down to the family. Now I have to learn how to do everything all over again on new computer, because our old one was ancient and so different. Luckily the printers still work on the new one, but the scanner is too old so we'll have to get a new one. (I use it to scan all my cards) My other choice is the camera. Well when I plugged it in the hardware for it didn't download so I'll have to google on how to find it. So if the pics of my cards aren't too clear today, they were taken on my tablet.
School is winding down. Track & Field are over. My kids aren't really athletes so they didn't place to move on to Regionals. But they do enjoy the day, as well as me. I always help out for the day. Usually I'm stuck way across the road timing races for the day, but this year I was paired with the grade three teacher. Grade three is when they start track & field so it was really cute watching them. Wondering when they stopped for snack, and recess. End of year trips have started. Right now my daughter is on her way home from Ottawa. Her grade 7 class has spent three days there touring the Canadian War Museum, Urban Scavenger Hunt, Haunted Walk, tour of the Parliament Buildings, Bank of Canada Currency Museum, Rideau Hall, Canadian Museum of Civilization RCMP Musical Ride Stables, Shopping time at the Byward Market and a mall. Their days started at 6:15 with a knock on their door and lights out at 10:30. They should sleep all weekend.
And can you believe it, I have completed three cards. Revealing one at a time. I had a special request for wedding cards. A ski theme, because they met skiing. Well since I have no stamps to use for this I went on to Silhouette to see what I could find. Bingo, found the perfect shape. A pair of goggles. I can enlarge it and use as the card. Simple I say, I've done this before. NOT. Nothing I try to do on the computer is simple. Me and computers just don't get along. After spending an hour and half trying to weld the centre line I gave up. Cut out two shapes, putting a fold quarter inch from top of the back and adhering to the front.
I turned out not back, and good enough that she bought it.
Enjoy your day, have to go. My son is home on a PD Day and is waiting for me to do some dancing with him on Just Dance for the Wii.
