Happy Holidays
Last night I sat down to play with one of the many stamps I have purchased lately. Really had fun with this one. I started on white paper, stamping with black ink. I also stamped an extra image on green patterned paper. Using distress inks I colored the whole image in blue and purple. Cut out the trees from the green paper, and glued the two outside ones down, and the middle one is pop dotted on for some dimension. I added some stickles to a couple of the trees to dress them up. Some gold thread tied around. My flowers are punched, rubbed from the back on a foam pad to curl the paper a bit and make them stand out. Buttons placed in the centre of the flowers.

Sunny Days
This week I've been tired, and just sitting on the couch at night watching tv, but I did manage to do some coloring. Last night I took one of those images and produced a card with it.
The image is colored with watercolor pencils. I stamped the image twice, cutting out the centre of the flower and put on the image with a pop dot on the bottom edge and glueing the top right down. I then added some purple pearls to the centre of the flower. I didn't have pearls dark enough so I colored white ones with a marker.

Presents to me
Happy Monday to everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. The weather was beautiful sunny, but a bit cool. It's starting to feel like fall. Soon the leaves and those dreaded pine needles will be falling.
On Friday I stopped into the Craft Nook while in town. Had a very nice visit with the ladies. I was just going in to look around, not intending to buy. Well, how can you go into a craft store and not buy anything, very hard. I came home with a 6x6 holiday pad of paper, a Prima stamp of a brick wall (my thought immediately went to Christmas and Santa), a Prima stamp of writing ( I use my background writing alot, this 2.5x3 will be great just behind a stamped image), Inkadinkado stamp bought just for the saying with it, "Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookies of life.", Imaginisce stamp of an airplane, (my cousin is a pilot, and she started flying as a bush pilot, although this plane is missing the floats its what she use to fly). And the only thing I needed was tape runner.
Just wanted to share with you.

Get Well Soon Penny
This is one of my fave flower stamps. Orchids by Flourishes. I colored them with watercolor pencils, and inked the edges with distress ink. And the bow, I love my bow maker.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

ATC
When I first started making cards, the local craft store was doning ATC's. But I haven't done them for many years. Last week at Jingle Belles their challenge was ATC's. I had fun with these, and think I'll have to try some more. I was too late to enter the challenge but here are my ATC's.

MMM Apple Pie
We had a good first week of school. Neither kid had alot of homework. So they are easing in gradually. Sam helps out in the kindergarten room during school, and at the end of school the teacher had given all the helpers a coupon for free ice cream cone at the parlor downtown. We didn't use it all summer, so today was a nice sunny warm day we decided to use it. The parlor is at the end of main street, and close to the Falls. So we got our ice cream and sat on a bench to eat while watching the traffic. After we walk over the falls. They are reconstructing the turbines so the water is redirected around part. You can see old pillars that you normally couldn't see.
The last week has been a bit cool, especially at night. With fall, cool weather, comes apple harvest. What better to make than pies. My pie was cut from grunge board to give it depth. The lighter strips were stamped on paper inked and cut out and glued on. The little apples were cut from dec. paper.

Schools back
Well we've made it through two days of school with no problems. Everyone seems to like thier new teachers. Sam lucked out and has two teachers sharing one of two 7/8 splits. Grant is in a 5/6. Worried all summer that he wouldn't get his EA assistance, but thankfully so far their is one in the class for two periods in the morning. It's just not the one that he's had all along.
My beef for today. The kids need two pairs of shoes for school. One indoor, one outdoor. Grant had a pair of perfectly good skateboard shoes to be used for outdoor, so we just had to buy him new indoor. He preferrs the flat skateboard shoes so that is what we got him for his indoor shoes, which also have to be used for gym. A classroom note comes home today saying that they are not allowed to wear skateboard shoes in the gym. So it's off to Walmart after supper to get yet another pair of shoes.

Back to school
Today card was made for my aunty. A pretty bouquet for her birthday, colored with markers, not always my choice, but I wanted the flowers nice and bold. I used stickles to dot around the outside of the image. And place some jewels on the flowers to give them a sparkle. The sentiment is a silver sticker that I colored with purple marker.

Just relaxing
Last night I made this card for my sister in-law. Have to get it in the mail because her birthday was three days ago. I have a hard time getting cards mailed on time. The image was stamped with versa mark and brushed with Pearl Ex. The image really shimmers, love that stuff, but have to find what to seal it with. If anyone has any suggestions. I sealed this one with hair spray, but it will yellow over time.
