Oh So Many Valentines

Evening everyone.  I'm sitting here posting in the nice warm while the snow blows around outside.  I'd like to share the little guys valentines that we have been working on.  It was so easy to cut out multiples, that I made extras to take to the senior home.

These are all the happy faces that go on the cookies.  The little guy thought that was really cool, and stole the sheet that was peeled off with the faces on it.

This is the icing part of the cookie.  I found it too much to cut out all the little sprinkles for 48 cookies so I spent yesterday using stickles to look like sprinkles.

And I couldn't let the little guy get away with not doing any of his valentines, so I had him glueing the faces on.  I'll share a pic of the finished product when we get them all assembled.

mmm chocolate

Evening everyone.  I've had a very productive day.  My day off and I was expecting the radio this morning to tell me it was a snow day for the school.  Twice in the last couple weeks that has happened.  But no, nice day out there.  And played with my silhouette.  Started out cutting out valentines for the little guy.  So much easier with the machine than by hand.  Then I tried these yummy strawberries dipped in chocolate, one of my favorite treats with my man.

The background was stamped with a splatter background stamp, embossed in white embossing powder. I then inked with blue and yellow.  I thought it needed something, so I added a strip of striped paper. This was all mounted on a yellow card.

I should be back tomorrow with pic of the many valentines.

The start to a new week

Here we are in Muskoka with another snow day for the kids.  Rather a rain day today.  We had freezing rain early so all buses were cancelled.  My weekend was very low key.  I had both days off and had planned to craft all weekend, but ended up doing none.  The little guy and I went looking for jeans for him, (he's wearing his only pair all week).  Mission accomplished, we came home with two more pairs for him, and a pair for me for $10.  The rest of the day was spent online checking out blogs and getting ideas.  Yesterday was laundry day. house cleaning.  And mostly sitting on the couch watching TV with the kids.

Merry Christmas.  I'm really going to try and make Christmas cards all year long.  My snowflakes were stamped with versa mark on white paper and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then inked with green distress ink.  The image is colored with markers and the marshmellows are done with perfect puff.

Tic Tac Toe

Afternoon everyone. Done my cleaning job for this morning, had lunch with hubbie, time for a quick post and then off to the real job.  It's my late night tonight but that's OK because I have two and a half days off, not back till Monday afternoon.  How sweet.

I just wanted to share this card with you.  The entire card is made with, yes you guested it, the silhouette.  The card shape the X's. O's, heart, and the lines.  So easy. I'm very happy with my new toy.

Be Mine

Hi everyone.  A quick post before getting supper on.  DH will be home soon but I'm expecting him to snowblow the driveway, so I don't have to rush right into dinner.  And the laptop is free, my daughter hasn't snagged it yet.  She spent all weekend and her snow day yesterday working on a presentation.  Just to have a boy in the class ruin it on her when she was out of the classsroom today.  So she has a new topic and two days to complete it.

I had alot of fun with this card.  Some just flow together so nicely.  The flower with the heart is embossed with white.  The birds are stamped in black and red distress ink was used on the corners.  A little heart jewel was added onto the stamped one.  And I couldn't go without using the silhouette, The heart border was cutout of sparkely paper.

hugs

Evening everyone.  This is my second post today.  I managed to sit down this afternoon and make a couple cards.  While the snow and rain fell outside.

This one is stamped on white paper.  The hearts were stamped in red ink.  I then traced over all but the main one with a glaze pen.  I made a mask for the main one so it stayed white.  I then inked with red distress ink.  The main heart was then colored with a pink jellyroll pen, and pearls added to the centre of the red flowers.

Roses are Red

Morning everyone.  Boy was I surprised this morning when the radio anounced buses where cancelled. I put the dog out right away to check the weather, and nothing.  Apparently we are to have a massive amount of snow this afternoon.  So bus lines took precautions and cancelled all buses in the area.  So much for my day off alone.  Now we are all having a jammie day.

I'm trying to get some valentines started.  Holidays always sneak up fast on me.  Last night I finished this one.  The strips are embossed with a spellbinders die.  I left the die on and used pearl ex to color it.  I used hairspray to seal but it still comes off, so I need to find something else.  Hubby suggested a spritz of white glue (he used that in modeling). If you have a product that works for you, pass it on please.  My rosebud and rose are cut from my silhouette. The mats were pulled out of my stash.

Happy Friday.  The weekend is here, although it's not for me as I have to work all weekend.  Not off till Tuesday. This is going to be quick, I'm waiting for the drywaller to get here and give us an estimate on our ceiling.

Not too happy with this card.  It just doesn't meet the vision I had.  I think the more I put on it the less I liked, but I'm sharing anyway.  Not every card we make is perfect.

Cake Anyone

Morning everyone. Here it is midmorning and I'm still in my jammies and surfing the blog sights.  Day off and I've decided I'm having a lazy day (with just a bit of house work thrown in).

I dug out the manual cutter for this one.  My old faithful cutterbug (it's feeling neglected since I got the silhouette).  I always find it hard to make a card with no stamp.  I'm so used to reaching for that stamped image, but this cake filled in nicely.  A little score around the edges of the white, and distressed with yellow distress ink. It's hard to see that the  scallops are lined with a gold glitter pen. (a bit of a stretch for the glitter challenge)

Pretty Pastels

Evening everyone. Hope your week is starting out well.  I managed to get my wall painted yesterday, so now all the dining room is painted.  But it's becoming a house with no trim.  The walls look great with fresh new paint but we haven't gotten any of the trim replaced.  Some is bought and cut for the bedroom doors, but there it stands leaning against the wall, or laying on the floor.  But I guess eventually we will get it all done.  I guess the living room is next.  A couple years ago we had a leak in the roof, and there is now a big damaged spot on the ceiling.  (stucco doesn't stand up well to water damage, and don't poke the blisters in it, because it looks worse with chunks of it missing) Well Friday we have someone coming to look to repair it.  That type of drywalling is beyond me

.
Anyway onto my card.   The image was done on the silhouette.  I tried to cut it out, but the jagged leaf pattern didn't cut so well.  So I put in the black pen, and used it as a stamped image.  I then used watercolor pencils to color it in.

Happy Monday

Oh and what a happy Monday it is.  First day back to school for the kiddies and dad heads back to work.  It's just me and dog. Ah, so silent in here.

Well I had fun playing with my new silhouette the other night. Now I have to make up cards to go with all the stuff I cut out.  Starting with this cute little cookie.  And yes the whole card is a heart shape.  I managed to weld two shapes together to make the card.  Oh I'm in love, don't know why I sat on the fence about getting one for so long.  Glad hubby thought of it for Christmas.  For this little guy I used gems for his sprinkles, instead of cutting out all the little pieces, I had a hard enough time keeping track of his eyes and mouth. (lost them once, had to go searching)
Next up, this beautiful rose frame.  Nice, simple and elegant looking. A little Love stamp add to finish it off.
Well no more playing till after I get my wall painted today.  Good thing it's a small one.

Playing around

Here I am on a Saturday night playing with my silhouette.  Kids are in bed, DH is killing things in Star Wars, and I'm experimenting with my silhouette.  After reading the silhouette blog the other day, I realized what the control panel shape was for.  I made mine from one of my fav papers.  Makes me think of spring.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Birthday

Wow,this is  quick post.  It's 11pm, I'm just home from work, and have about 50 minutes to link my post to Card Patterns.

Last night the inspiration hit me, and I was able to finish this card.
On the green paper I used my splatter background stamp and embossed in white.  My image was cut outside the cicle. I have always wanted to try this and finally made the venture.  Image is colored with sakura gelly roll pens. And because this card has to go in the mail it couldn't have too many bumps and humps on it, so the dots are done in black stickles.

Thinking of You

Evening everyone.  Hope you all had a great new years.  Ours was quiet.  We enjoy it with the kids. Dinner while watching a movie. This years feature was 'Pearcy Jackson the Lightning Theif'. The kids tried to make it till midnight but we chased them of to bed about 11:30 so mom and dad could spend time in the hot tub alone.

Yesterday was a lazy day, and one to play.  While DH was on his Star Wars game again, I managed to pry the laptop out of my daughters hands long enough to play with my new silhouette.  I did manage to complete one card.  I found the background in my stash, it goes perfect with the flowers. A few holes poked around the edge and inked. And voila.
