Card Patterns Sketch 38

Aren't these santa's the cutest.  This is the first pack of 3D images I picked up yesterday.  The color for the card is picked up from the color framing on the square.  You can't see it in the picture.
The sketch is from Card Patterns Sketch 38.

Here is the sketch.

And here is a better look at each card.

Happy Birthday

My dear little one went off to school yesterday and I was able to go to work.  To find out that DH went home sick.  Today is my day off (like I need another one this week) and I was hoping work would call me.  Although it seems if someone calls in management won't let them be replaced.  It makes for long line ups at the check outs and grumpy customers.  But oh well that's how it goes.  Just onother day to card make.  DH is bed he can't bother me.
I stopped into the local craft store last night while I was waiting for my daughter at violin.  I wanted to check out their co ordinations paper.  On Cuttlebug Challenges their video on Fri Oct. 23 was how to make bows from a 12x12 sheet.  It was quit interesting you should check it out.  Anyway they had just gotten a new shipment of 3D packages in.  There was the some really cute ones.  I just couldn't walk away and leave them there.  I also picked up a couple of new outline stickers.

My son has a birthday party Friday night.  A costume party at the bowling asle.  How fun.  His favorite stamp to be used on cards is the truck from SU.  (Although any vehicle he loves.)  I bought the accessory pack to go with the truck about a month ago and haddened used it yet, so this was the perfect time to try it out.  I followed the card in the catalogue because it used most of the stamps.  He even told me what colors everything had to be.  Here it is.

I hope you have sunshine where you are, it's another grey day here.

CCT and Cupcake

Well I've had another cardmaking day.  My son is still sick so I was home again today.  DH volunteered to stay home today with him but I had already called in.  Thanks to his sister he can do his homework tonight and be caught up for when he goes back tomorrow, she brought him home all his work.  I'm sure he was real happy.

Today's card is two challenges in one. I started out with Cute Card Thursday-Challenge 83-Candy Corns.  It had to be sweet/candy themes.  I wanted a sketch to follow and choose this weeks sketch from Cupcake Craft Challenges.  The lollypop and sentiment are digital designs that I won from the Cardpatterns sponsered by  Cutting Cafe.

Here is the sketch.

And here is my card.

Enjoy the rest of your day.  I'm off to swimming with the healthy child.  ;0)

home sick

I've spent the day at home with a sick child.  He woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and sore throat.  I had a bit of sore throat too, so it didn't take much for him to convince me he had to stay home from school.  It gave me the chance to sit down this afternoon and make a card.

The sketch is from 365 Cards-Day 239-Super Sketchy Sunday.

At Crafty Cardmaker-Challenge 6 is Autumn.  You were to create something reminiscent of autumn, colors, twines, leaves.

Here is the sketch.

And here is my card.

Have a great evening ;0)

Baby's first

Just a quick post before I have to go and pick up my daughter from a sleepover. Her best friend had her birthday party yesterday.  Sam and another friend where invited to go treetop trecking in the morning, and then back to A's house for a full day of girls play and a sleepover.  Sam has a problem with sleepovers, when bedtime hits she wants to come home.  But last night I got a phone call around 8 they were going to watch a movie then head to bed, and she just wanted to talk to me, and make sure I'm picking her up this morning at 10:30.

Anyway here is a card I did last night.  I think I saw this one on herearts and thought it was cute for baby's first christmas.  I have a craft sale later in November and Christmas cards sell the best, so I've been trying to get alot done.

Here's my card.  I'm off to check out the Blog Hop over at 365 Cards

I stamped the stocking image onto different decorative paper, then cut them out into the individual pieces.  The lettering is embossed in silver embossing powder.  I used silver outline stickers to form the box aroung them.

Two card completed today

It was a rough day at work today, so I came home and was able to sit down and finish off a card I had started last night, and completed another.
I only completed one card this week for 365 cards, and it was day 232-Super Sketchy Sun.  Although Pam had alot of good challenges this week, I just haven't had the time.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my card.

I've been working on a set of six cards using the sketch from Scrap n Stamp.  I finished them up today.

Happy 50 yrs Macaulay

I have spent the morning at my kids school for a little celebration.  It was 50 years ago today that the first kids started at the school.  There was a short assembly and then some of us volunteer moms helped to serve cake to the whole school.  Good things its just a small school, just under 300 kids, its a nice little family.  I then got to spend some time in my sons class till lunch.  I was able to see him writing a story on his laptop, (he uses co-writer, which we are trying to get him for home),  he went to a reading group and I was able to read with him.  Now when he tells me at home, I can't read, I know better.  It was a good morning.

Now on to cardmaking.  Last night I was able to settle down to make a card.  I found a great score at WalMart on the weekend.  In the halloween display they had a package of the fun foam, in letters, shapes, and some sheets.  I really only wanted the letters but was able to create this great halloween card with it.

Cuttlebug Challenges Be Inspired #53 wanted a Halloween or Fall project using their color challenge, and at Cute Card Thursday Challenge 82 was Spookfest.

Here is the color challenge.

A little at a time

Card making seems to be going slow these days.  Although I haven't been feeling well this week and bruised my butt by standing up next to a doorknob.  I have managed to cut paper for about 12 cards, and did some coloring last night for them, lazing on the couch.

I got three new stamp sets from SU last week and haven't made a single card with them, until last night.  The sketch is for Card Patterns.  I started out to make this one for Cupcake Craft Challenges Week 61-Buttons & Stitching.  I tried to do faux stitching, (not as good as I hoped), and it is to represent motion of the swing, which is for 365 Cards-Day 227-In Motion.

Here's the sketch.

And here's my card.

Sooo full of turkey

Yesterday we had our Thanksgiving dinner.  As usual everyone stuffed themselves.  My aunt came for dinner, it was nice to have her.  Today her and I (and the kids if they decide) are going cemetary searching.  She was showed were her great gramma is, so wants to show me. The family from back then seems to be spread out everywhere.  We live next to a cemetary and my gramma's mother, sister and brother are buried there.  Enough about long past relatives.  Last night while feeling round and stuffed (just like the turkey) I managed to make a card.

The sketch is from Scrap n Stamp October Challenge 2.  At Cuttlebug Challenges their Be Inspired #52 Challenge was to make a Halloween or Fall card.  I did the Halloween theme for the Birthday Bash so I chose a fall theme.  I had my card almost done and hadn't used a cuttlebug folder on it.  So I covered my swirl with it.

Here's the sketch.

Happy Thanksgiving

Here it is October already.  Thanksgiving, the last big weekend of the summer.  Everyone is up to close up the cottages.  Work will get really slow now. Everything folds up for the winter.  Tomorrow is our big dinner.  I had the kids help make the pumpkin pie yesterday since they were home on a PA Day.  The turkey will be ready for DH to put in the oven while I'm at work tomorrow.  MMMM turkey.

My card today is for Cupcake Craft Challenges-Week 60-Thanks a Bunch.  I've used a nice little embossing folder for the flowers.  A bit of distress inking around the edges.  (I learned that last weekend) And a little bow just to add a little to it.  I love my Bow Easy, I could never make bows look any good.  Now I put them on everything.

Have a happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians out there.  Enjoy  ;)

4 challenges 1 card

Wow I like it when I can cover several challenges in one card.  I don't seem to have the time to craft like I did in the summer.  Next week we start two more after school activities.

I'll start with the sketch, (which I forgot to download and I couldn't get back in to get it) is for Scrap n Stamp .  For 365 Cards-Day 219- In &Out.  You had to try weaving on your card.  I felt like I was in public school, we use to make place mats at Thanksgiving by weaving the paper.  Caardvarks and Crafty Card Makers Challenge 5-Ribbons and Fibres, both asked for ribbon to be used.  The ribbon I used for the pink ribbon flower was a little stiff, it stands out a bit from the card.  And I made a loopy flower with ribbon to put behind a flower.  It made for a very thick card.

And heres my card.

Long Weekend

What a great weekend I had.  It was my first all weekend crop.  I'm not much of a scrapbooker, it takes me so long to do a page.  I much prefer cards, but I managed to make one two page layout, and a one page layout.  I also managed to get two sets of six cards done.  We had a small class on how to pretty up a small album, and a small techniques album.  All the ladies did a wonderful job.  The kitchen staff did a great job cooking for everyone.  Can't wait for the next one.  Enough of the chit chat.  Last night I managed to do a card.

The sketch is from Card Patterns-Sketch 35. It also fits Cute Card Thursday-Challenge 80-A Pinch & a Pinch.  To celebrate a first.  I did baby's first Christmas.  Hope you enjoy.

Have a great day ;0)
