Beautiful sunset

Just a litle sunset to share with you. What a beautiful end to a long weekend. As I was in the kitchen peeling apples to go in the freezer. I was able to enjoy this beautiful sunset. Although the camera didn't capture the full pink of the sky.
Back to work tomorrow, everyone enjoy their week.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian blog friends.  Whether you have already has your turkey dinner, or you will be enjoying it tomorrow.
We had a lovely dinner, just Randy the kids and I.  So much food.  Potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, turkey, stuffing, cranberries, gravy, and cant forget the pie.  We settled on apple pie and are saving the pumpkin for tomorrow with left overs.
I made this cute little Tom Turkey to sit at everyones place at the table.  He is a digi stamp from Meljen's Designs found through Whimsy Stamps.  I managed to print out six of the little cuties, which is good for me, because most times I get so frustrated trying to get them all on the page I give up.  He is colored with watercolor pencils.  When cutting out I left a triangle shape underneath him so it could be folded back so he sits up.

Happy Turkey Day

Manna Food Drive

I'm very proud of my little girl tonight.  She was out collecting for the Food Bank with some of her classmates tonight.  I believe it is headed up by the hockey team.  Both the grade 7 & 8 teachers are on the team, and welcomed the help of their students.  She had a great time, and is willing to go again on the next one.  There may be help for her yet.

Let It Snow

Happy Monday everyone.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Me, well I worked all weekend, so didn't have much time for anything.  DH did start the flooring.  He got a bit down and it is going to look great when it's done.

I did sit down last night to make a card.  I started out, I wanted to do some spraying.  I had mixed up some mists using pearl ex the other night.  But the one I wanted to use clogged and I couldn't get it to spray.  So I distressed my image instead using a little chalk ink.  Colored the snowmans hat with markers, and paninted him with a mixture of stickles and water, to make him sparkle.  I went around the edges and filled the little bubbles from the image with liquid pearl dots.  And voila la.

Happy Holidays

Happy Wednesday to everyone. Hope your week is going well.  Looking forward to a day off tomorrow.  Not sure what I'll do, other than house work which never seems to end.

Last night I sat down to play with one of the many stamps I have purchased lately.  Really had fun with this one.  I started on white paper, stamping with black ink.  I also stamped an extra image on green patterned paper.  Using distress inks I colored the whole image in blue and purple.  Cut out the trees from the green paper, and glued the two outside ones down, and the middle one is pop dotted on for some dimension.  I added some stickles to a couple of the trees to dress them up.  Some gold thread tied around. My flowers are punched, rubbed from the back on a foam pad to curl the paper a bit and make them stand out.  Buttons placed in the centre of the flowers.

Sunny Days

Happy Sunday evening to everyone.  Hope everyones weekend was as sunny as mine.  I have had two days off.  It's been nice to have the whole family home on the same days.  Although the kids don't like it because that means more work for them.  We managed to get two walls fixed up and painted.  Was a little worried the paint we choice for the dinning room was too dark, but it looks great (so far with one wall dark, three more to go).

This week I've been tired, and just sitting on the couch at night watching tv, but I did manage to do some coloring.  Last night I took one of those images and produced a card with it.

The image is colored with watercolor pencils.  I stamped the image twice, cutting out the centre of the flower and put on the image with a pop dot on the bottom edge and glueing the top right down.  I then added some purple pearls to the centre of the flower.  I didn't have pearls dark enough so I colored white ones with a marker.

Only one challenge for this one, Phindys Place Challenge #73-Opposites on the Color Wheel.
Have a great Monday

Presents to me

Happy Monday to everyone.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  The weather was beautiful sunny, but a bit cool.  It's starting to feel like fall.  Soon the leaves and those dreaded pine needles will be falling.

On Friday I stopped into the Craft Nook while in town.  Had a very nice visit with the ladies.  I was just going in to look around, not intending to buy.  Well, how can you go into a craft store and not buy anything,  very hard.  I came home with a 6x6 holiday pad of paper, a Prima stamp of a brick wall (my thought immediately went to Christmas and Santa), a Prima stamp of writing ( I use my background writing alot, this 2.5x3 will be great just behind a stamped image), Inkadinkado stamp bought just for the saying with it, "Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookies of life.", Imaginisce stamp of an airplane, (my cousin is a pilot, and she started flying as a bush pilot, although this plane is missing the floats its what she use to fly).  And the only thing I needed was tape runner.

Just wanted to share with you.

Happy shopping

Get Well Soon Penny

You never know what will happen.  Today I was in cleaning the store, only to find out that the owners wife had had a heart attach on Sunday.  OMG she's not much older than I am.  So of course I had to rush home and make her this special card.  Hope you feel better soon Penny!!  The Cleaning Fairy misses you.

This is one of my fave flower stamps. Orchids by Flourishes.  I colored them with watercolor pencils, and inked the edges with distress ink.   And the bow, I love my bow maker.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

ATC

Happy Thursday to everyone.  It was a chilly one here last night.  Glad we picked the tomatoes.  But now I have to deal with it all.  If anyone has a good recipe for something to do with green tomatoes, please let me know.
When I first started making cards, the local craft store was doning ATC's.  But I haven't done them for many years.  Last week at Jingle Belles their challenge was ATC's.  I had fun with these, and think I'll have to try some more.  I was too late to enter the challenge but here are my ATC's.

Harvest

Quick post tonight to just show you our great harvest.  There is a chance of frost tonight, so the whole family was out just at dusk with our headlight flashlights on picking tomatoes and peppers.  We grow them in pots in the backyard.  We have one plant of beefsteak, and one cherry tomato plant.  We have been giving away  a ton of cherry tomatoes because we can't eat enough to keep up as they are ripening.  I'm off tomorrow so it will be spent freezing and green tomato relish.

Happy  harvest
