Two Years In the Making

Happy Easter to all my blog friends out there.  This is a great Easter weekend, although I have to work today. Thursday I drove to the city to pick up my daughter from college. So good to have her home. It has been a hard 7 months with her away at school for the first time. But she has done well and there is only one month to go and she will be back home for the summer.

Well my son is very happy as well. I have finally finished his Mindcraft blanket that I gave to him two Christmases ago in pieces. I told him it was a 'build a blanket' he had to put it together. That didn't go over so well. So after working on it every now and them I have finally completed it. He was so happy yesterday, he sat on the couch all morning watching TV snuggled under his blanky.

And the big reveal.

This is Steve. With over 300 squares it was quite the job. The pattern came from The Loopy Stitch.

It's off to work. Going to be a busy day with the store being closed yesterday and again tomorrow. We gather tomorrow with hubbies side of the family. We only seem to meet up once a year at Easter. Looking forward to it. But not looking forward to dropping Sam back off at school afterwards.

happy Easter to all

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my blog friends, near and far.  I have had such a busy year.  My new job is taking up 4-5 days a week.  Cutting down on my craft time a whole lot.  I have managed to make a crocheted blanket for my daughter for Christmas.  She once told me not to make anything for her, but once I saw the Tardis blanket I knew she would like it.  And I was right.  We did have a great Christmas.  I love days when all four of us are home.  Even if we aren't doing things together we are still in the house together.

New years was  a little more relaxing.  I had three days off. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.  Today hubbie and I went for a snowshoe.  We both got new snowshoes for Christmas, but since we had a green Christmas we were unable to use them till this week.  It started snowing a few days ago, and now it doesn't know to stop.  It was a short trek through our trail in the bush.  The puppy (Maxwell) came with us.  He loves to play in the snow, running off the trail into the deep snow through the trees.  When we got back to the house Max was covered in big snowballs.  He wasn't impressed when I pulled them off.  And even less impressed when he went into his crate to dry off.

I'm signing off now.  Watching a couple more episodes of the marathon of The Big Bang.  We have been watching it for days.

Happy Thanksgiving

Good evening everyone, and a happy Thanksgiving to you all.  What a great meal.  I still feel so stuffed. Today was a great day.  The whole family was home.  Who could ask for anything more.  With the cold weather sneaking up on us we have spent the weekend getting the yard put away for winter.  My daughter discovered the power washer, making her job of washing out all the flower pots much more enjoyable.
Not much card making has been going on. That will change soon.  We have started construction on my area.  Insulation is up, and drywall is starting to go up.  The basement is getting cold, and the stove can't be turned on until my stuff is moved from in front of it.

As you can see I have not been idle.  A friend of ours just had a baby girl, and I had to make some little treasures for her.  I am a knitter, not a crocheter, so this took me a little longer to do. There was a lot of ripping out till I got it right. I think the little mermaid tail is my favorite.
