Snowglobes & Snowman

Evening everyone.  What a day we had.  Snow storm this moring and bright sunny skies this afternoon.  It was a very slow drive to work.  Good thing, the trees look so beautiful with the snow hanging off them.

My card tonight is of a cute snowman in a snowglobe.  The image is an outline sticker.  This is the first time I have added pieced paper to the outline sticker.  Using tracing paper you trace around the shape you want, cut it out on cardstock and stck it to the back of the sticker.  So cool.

First Snow Day

Morning everyone.  Well we've had our first snow day of the year.  And we have NO snow.  There is a freezing rain warning for today. I guess they don't want a repeat of a couple years ago.  Some buses got stuck on back roads and didn't get kids home till 10pm.  Fortunately our bus runs on main roads and it was only about an hour late.  The bad thing today.  Sams first basketball game that wasn't cancelled, was to be after school.  I guess the girls are just not meant to play.

My sweet little tree was colored with distress inks, how I love them.  The star on the top is gold stickles.  The presents are colored with a mix of pearl x.  It gives them a nice shimmer.

MMMM Gingerbread

Morning everyone. An unexpected day off.  The little guy got up this morning with a headache.  So that meant mom had to stay home.  Not much thinkin about that, although I will miss those hours on my paycheck. Just means I can try and get some more cards done today.  I have people at work asking for them.

I just love this set from Graphicats.  The gingies are so cute and the sentiments with it, just love them.

Tag Your It

Evening everyone. My second post of the day.  I have been very busy at the craft table today.  I'd like to share this tag with you.  I started off stamping the trees, then added blue and green distress ink.  I then stamped a circular stamp in the same blue.  Stardust glitter was used for the snow at the base of the trees.

Keep it Simple

Morning all my blogging friends.  Well I'm not getting as much accomplished this weekend as I had hoped.  Hubby went on 'a sleepover', sounds funny.  He was approved to Beta test the new Star Wars game again.  So he left with his computer yesterday to his friends so they could talk across the room, rather than on the phone all weekend.  With him gone I had hoped to card all day.  After laundry, shopping movie night with kiddies, I made this card at 11:00 last night while watching the news.

I love the simple style.  I saw this on Penny Black this week.  The card was by Kelley Eubanks.  Go check out her week of simple.  Outstanding.

Hopefully I'll accomplish more today.

Happy Thanksgiving America

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends today.  Hope you enjoy your turkey day.

Today is my day off from my real job.  But I have already completed two cleaning jobs today.  A little break for the afternoon to catch up on some blogs, and soon I have to get dinner on.  Soup night, we have self defense and swimming lessons.  And this week we through in parent teacher interviews on our way home.

Yesterday I received a great package in the mail.  I just had to play with it .  When I saw this set I thought of Janice, a friend of mine from work.  A girl with a little edge.   You have to check out the stamps at graphicats.  Love them.

My little gingerbread guy is so cute and apparently very jummy missing his leg.  I colored him with scattered straw and tea dye distress ink.  I them sprayed with a spritz of Aztec Gold Pearl x to give him a little shimmer.  Added his icing with a white jellyroll pen, jewels for buttons, and a little stickles for eyes.  I added him to a cookie sheet that I saw over at Creative Accents.  And the awesome sentiment. I had to add one to the inside too.

Caring Cards

Evening everyone.  How's your week going?  Mine, so so.  Not liking the intermeral basketball that my daughter has started playing.  Mondays game was cancelled because the school hosting wasnt ready.  Today hosted at our school, the boys team showed up, but the girls team didn't know they played and didn't show up. So Sam hasn't played a game yet.  Unknown when the next game is. Very unorganized.

On a happier note, I have two more cards made for 'Caring Cards'.  They are very simple.  I had two sheets of patterned paper with strips of patterns.  I just cut the strips mounted them and added to a cold.  The snowflakes are cut with cuttlebug and glued on.

Happy Birthday

Good evening everyone.  I had a wonderful day.  Spent a relaxing birthday with my family.  One had a friend over for a sleepover, which lasted most of the day.  The other one had a play day up the road for the afternoon, but that just gave me some craft time.  Stocking up on Christmas cards again, since I sold most of them yesterday.

My new coat from the family, that will keep me nice and warm in our cold winters.  Also a pic of the pretty ring my DD bought for me yesterday.  Fab ring, copper wire wrapped around a big colorful bead.
Hope everyone had as wonderful a weekend as I did.

Craft Sale Update

Just back from the craft sale.  What a great day.  It was very busy.  The best I've ever done at this sale.  Sam had a very good day.  Her little paperclip bookmarks were a hit.  Selling out in the first hour.  She managed to make $47 for Out of the Cold.  I'm very proud of her.  She had alot of good comments today for her generosity. It's nice to see young people helping out.  Now if she would just do it at home.

Blue Christmas

Evening everyone.  Busy working the last two days.  DD volunteered after school for the first time with Out of the Cold.  An organization that makes meals for less fortunate people.  She is able to set up the tables and set them.  Really enjoyed herself.  Proud of her for helping others.

Todays card was following a sketcch from deconstruted jen.  What an awesome sketch, I really liked the weave took of it, but last night just couldn't get the weave to work with my paper so I cut it into squares.  Still turned out great.  I used outline stickers on each square.  All around the outside are blue gems put on with my i-rock.

Rememberance Day

Here I sit recuperation from a small surgery yesterday.  And remembering all the heroes that have fought for us in the many wars.  I had two great uncles on my grammas side that fought bravely for us.  Uncle Allan was killed just days before he was to come home.  And his brother Wes made it home only to drown shortly after.  My thoughts go out to all the soldiers still station in war zones.  May you make it home safely to your awaiting families.

Here is another card using the polaroid frame from Stamping Bella.  This time I put in a little bird from Penny Black.  The bird was colored with watercolor pencils.  Distress ink was used for the blue in the background.  The red paper was spritzed with a mist of blue pearl x, although this is hard to see in the pic.

keep remembering

You will always be remebered mrs b

It's been a very sad day for me today.  Finding out this morning that a very favorite teacher of mine from public school passed away suddenly this morning.  My daughter also had the priveledge of having her as a substitute teacher when she started school.  She was such an inspiration to so many kids.  Mrs Botting, you will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

My card is a flip card.  I have seen a few around lately, so had to try it out.  What fun to make.  I added some patterned paper.  Stamped a candy cane to match the paper, amd colored with a jellyroll pen, and added a jewel to the middle of the bow.  The piece was then inked with distress ink.

Christmas is for giving

Happy Sunday everyone.  Hope you are having a great day.  I worked for 4 hours but am home now, to enjoy the great sunshine today.

I got a wonderful idea from Jennifer McGuire.  She is collecting Christmas card to be distributed to Retirement homes.  This gave me an idea.  One of my daughters teachers has been talking to them about giving back, and making a difference.  She and her friends will help me make some cards, and I will get her and her brothers class at school to sign and write in the cards.  Then taking them to the retirement here in town.  Thanks Jennifer for the idea.  Christmas is a depressing time of year, and to have no family to come visit you.  Hopefully the cards will bring a few smiles at such a joyous time of year.

On to my card.  I have had fun with this polariod frame from Stamping Bella.  The image is a Penny Black.  I colored the pinecone with pencil crayons and added some crystal stickles to make it look like snow on it.  The bows were drawn on with gellyroll sakura dk green pen.

Oh Christmas Tree

Well evening everyone.  I think I'm getting my mojo back.  Been checking out everyones sights to try and get my creative juices going.  The last couple nights have been very productive.

I purchased a set of christmas sentiments a couple weeks ago.  This one is the one that caught my eye, in the shape of a tree.  I started by stamping the sentiment onto computer paper and cutting it out. I then traced it onto the front of the card, and cut out the shape.  After placing a piece of paper inside the card, I inked the front of the card with distress ink.  I then stamped the sentiment through the window.  The presents are stamped and colored with pearl x so that they shimmer.  The bows are ribbon to add dimention.

Let me know if this post is showing up on your dashboards.  I understand that my last few have not.  Trying a different computer to post.
