Thank you teachers

Morning everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.  I've finished thank you cards for the kids teachers.  Only four more days of school.  And I don't have their gifts made yet.  Must get in gear.  Had fun with my cuttlebug for these ones.  Using some left over map paper from my cruise to make the globe, and the scissors, awesome.

I'd like to share my peonies that I picked this week end.  This is the first year I have had more than one flower on the bush.  There were 13.  And I managed to get them cut before those green beetles got all over them and devoured them.  They smell so fragrant.

My little guy is becoming quite the photographer.  He took this pic yesterday at our family reunion.  This was along the side of the road on the way into the cottage.  What an awesome day.  It had been 10 yrs since I was last down to it.  Grant was just a baby.  So good to see everyone, especially Peg.  It's too bad that life seems so busy now adays, with both parents working, kids, and kids activities.  That families don't seem to get together like they used to.  But I've marked the calender for next year, and hopefully we'll make it again.

Big Boots

Evening everyone.  A cold has me down this week.  Not much energy at all.  Tuesday I had to drag my but out to Sam's school trip.  I was at Ste Marie among the Hurons for the second time in two weeks.  Both kids had their trip there this year.  Tuesday was Aboriginal Day so it was alot different from Grant's trip.  We were told when we went through the gate that they were expecting 3200 kids.  The place was packed.  But everyone enjoyed themselves.
My LO of my son's big boots.  He learned this year how to drive the lawn mower.  Dad wanted him to have work boots to do it so took him to town boot shopping.  Well in our small town you can't buy kids work boots, so Grant now has a pair of men's size 7 steal toe safety boot.  They will last him for quit awhile.
My LO was made for Creative Accents.  Instead of making a card I did a LO, the first time I've tried this.  Here is the sketch.

Silouette

Afternoon everyone.  Busy morning running around.  Kids had a dentist appt. before school.  Then off to the local craft store to see what's new.  And this is what I found.  I love these 3-D designs.  This one I didn't use pop dots on it, thought I'd give a bit of a different look.  Cuttlebug embossing, matting and a bit of ribbon.  Voila, it's done.

Before posting I was browsing the challenge sites and found that over at Phindys Place the challenge this week is Black & White.

Have a great weekend.  I'm working all of it.  Hubby is off to the air show with the kids tomorrow.  Enjoy.

Running Turtle

Afternoon everyone.  I wanted to share with you the speeder I found running across my lawn last night when I arrived home from my meeting.  My it was traveling, especially when the dog spotted it.  My son had just cut the grass about an hour before, so it must have had a good hiding spot.

Well I didn't get creative time last night, but this morning while enjoying my tea I whipped up this little baby for some special dad.  Used my little washers again, I love these for male cards.  Thanks to Lilian for pointing them out.

Tulips Gallor

Afternoon everyone.  Well we finally have some sunshine today, after a week of cloudy skies and rain.  Home from work supper in the oven, the last parent council meeting, and then yes ME TIME.  I'm in for some creativity tonight.

On todays card the image is colored with pencil crayons. The tulips are done with Gelly Roll Sakura pens to give them a little shimmer.  For the patterned paper I started with white cardstock and laying Spellbinders Impressabilities-Tulip on, sponged with Distress Ink.  I used Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose to darken some spots.  The edges are distressed with Old Paper.  (not bad, usually I don't keep track of products used, and when I go to post I can't remember )

Beautiful Daffadil

Afternoon everyone.  I have my creative juices flowing again.  Two cards done last night.  But I'm saving one for tomorrow, since I have to work this afternoon.

Today is a PA Day here in Muskoka.  Kids are at home so the teachers can write out their report cards.  I've gotten rid of one.  She's gone to a friends for a play day.  Why is it that they cant go one weekend without seeing a friend?

Onto card stuff.  I haven't totally been ignoring the craft.  While I was slacking off from my blog, I was organizing my stamps into a binder.  And coloring stamped images.  This I do when we're watching TV upstairs, away from my craft area.  I will stamp several images at a time, then color them while watching TV with hubby in the evenings.  Enough babble.  I colored the image with pencil crayons.  Not really happy with it,  I think I'll try waterpencils next time.  What a job with the wavie sticker.  The origanal color is purple.  I didn't want both of them the same.  Tried to ink it green with Distress Ink (not dark enough to cover).  So I ended up coloring it with a marker.  The pin I've used is actually a cotter pin I found at the hardware store.

Storage ideas

It's been a week of no card making.  The first of the week DH was away, so I was on my own.  Wednesday we had a bad wind storm and lost power for most of the day.  We also lost our internet service until last night.  But I was kept busy knitting socks.  My son likes knit socks and I found a new pattern for ankle socks which he preferrs.
This morning while catching up on everyones blog posts, I came across a very interest couple of posts at Creative Accents on storage.  Here are the links to their posts:  http://creativeaccents.blogspot.com/2011/05/ideas-for-organizing-part-1.html
