Happy Easter

Happy Good Friday to everyone.  I hope everyone is enjoying some family time.  We all are home today.  I have some little necklaces I want to try to make for all the  little girls that will be at our Easter dinner on Sunday.  I'm just having a problem coming up with something for the boys.  If anyone has any suggestions , I'm open for some.

I'm late posting my card so I've missed the challenges that it was made for.  But here it is anyway.  I cut it out shaped, and left the die cut on to ink so the edges stayed white.  I then stamped the image and colored it with pencil crayons.  Add a few gems and the sentiment.

MMM Easter Eggs

Evening everyone.  What a wonderful day I've had.  Day off work and nothing planned.  I managed to make two cards.  While doing up all the laundry in the house.  Washed, dried, folded and put away in the same day.  That's really something for me.

Since easter is coming this weekend.  I decided to do an easter theme.  This is my fav easter stamp.  The little mouse with the easter eggs.  I colored it with watercolor pencils.  The yellow is hand made paper that I found in my paper stash.  I haven't used buttons and twine for a while so had to throw a few of those on.

All Tuckered Out

Evening everyone.  Well it certainly was difficult to return to work on Monday.  I was really getting used to staying at home. And my foot was thanking me too.  I'm having issues with a pain on the top of my foot, and last week it was starting to feel better.  I had purchased a Dr Scholls orthodic from the drug, and was thinking it was helping.  But it was just staying off my feet, because Tuesday was a killer after standing on my feet Monday.  It was back to icing and Ibprophen.  Today was my day off and the morning was spent at the garage.  Although I hadn't noticed I'd been there for two hours when hubbie called to check on me.  I was ready a good book.

Yesterday was the first day of spring.  Not looking like spring around here.  It has been snowing all week.  -5 temperatures.  I am so done with winter, looking forward to nice warm sunny skies again.  Although with that comes the black flies.  But at least they don't last as long as the snow.

When I got home I spent the afternoon creating.  I love the look of this blue against the white.  Just stunning.  I cut my 2x2 squares, stamped the flower on them, and inked around the edges with the same ink.  Adding a simple sentiment.

Monochromatic Christmas

Afternoon everyone.  I've just gotten back in the swing of things and I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Not looking forward to it.  I'd much rather be here creating.

It has turned out to be another beautiful sunny day here. Although I'm not out enjoying it. I do enjoy the sun coming in the front windows.

I just love doing monochromatic cards. I always have a hard time with what colors to put together, and this is so simple.  Besides they look great.  My image was stamped with versa mark and embossed in brown, just to give it a little extra depth and shine.  I add just a bit of stickles on the roof of the church to look like snow shining. My sticky mesh I colored with a marker after trying distress ink and finding out it just rubs off making a big mess.  And a little bit of gold cording.

I even managed a few challenges again today:

Jingle Belles-neutral monochromatic
Sentimental Sunday-anything goes

Spring is Just Around the Corner

Evening everyone.  Well, it was a beautiful sunny day here today. Which sure beat the snow we had yesterday.  With two days left of my holidays I don't plan on doing very much.  Today we had some family time if you could call it that.  At least we were in the same room.  Hubbie and daughter playing on the computer, the little guy modeling on the floor and me making this card.  I even got lazy with dinner.  Help yourself to whatever YOU can make yourself.

I actually had fun with card.  Stamping the umbrellas with versa ink and clear embossing them.  Then inking the paper.  The boots were stamped on colored paper, colored with shapies, then cut out and glued onto the circle.

I even managed to cover four challenges

Faux Druzy Necklace

Afternoon everyone. Short post to share with you. My first attempt at a faux druzy necklace. I have to go back and try to brake up the glass smaller, I think it's a little chunky.

Hop on over to minted strawberry for the full instructions.

New Look Old Calander

Evening everyone. What a turn in weather we have had. From nice warm sunny snow melting to -5 and snow all day. What a good day to stay in where it is warm.

The project for today was redoing an old calendar. I have had this calendar sitting on my craft table since I made it in 2008. A couple of weeks ago I found calendar stickers. They are smaller than the original, so I had to improvise. Cutting white card stock the same size as original and stuck the sticker at the bottom. Then I added a stamp or stick to match the page. I now will know what day it is again.

Off to finish my sock. Good news it's a match to one I've already finished.

Family Night at the Movies

What a wonderful week we've been having.  Another relaxing day.  After a trip to the dentist for the kids, it was craft time.  Two days in a row I've managed to sit at my craft table to create.  After dinner it was off to the movies. Family night at the movies.  Didn't realize when we planned to go tonight that it was cheap night, so the theatre was packed.  Oz was our choice tonight.  Great movie.

Today I choose a pet sympathy card.  They were a big hit at one of the craft sales I went to, and I'm almost out.  I water colored the cute puppy stamp, and found a little metal bone to match the bones on the paper.

A Day of Shopping

Afternoon everyone out there in blog land. I have just spent an enjoyable day out shopping with the kids. It's a half hour drive south of us to a city with slightly better shopping than us.  A stop at the mall to find the little guy a new wallet at the luggage store.  Love that store, and it was buy one get one half off, so mom ended up with a new wallet too.  A wonder down through the mall to the book store, the kids always come out of with several selections.  A quick look in the Source, and a long chat with the young fellow trying to sell us new phones.  Off to my fav store Michael's, for some supplies.  Although with the kids there it is always a quick trip.  They think I take too long in there. Then it was over to A&W for lunch.  Then off to Reptile Lost World for feeders for the geckos.  The male is finally waking up and starting to eat.  I don't think he would last much longer, he was starting to shrink.  He looks smaller than when we brought him home.  Next stop was Critter Cove for supplies for my girls guinea pig.  And last stop and maybe the best was the The Candy Store on the highway.  It has hundreds of kinds of candy.  So much it's hard to chose what you want.

So this is the fourth day I've been home.  Third for the kids. It's so nice to be on holidays.  No plans, no schedules, just do what we want.  So relaxing.  I have even managed to find time to make a card.  It's been so long.  First I had to find my craft table.  Stuff wasn't being put away, and if they don't know what to do with it, they pile it on mom table.  I had actually colored the flowers awhile ago and ended up not using them.  So it was just a matter of putting a base together.  Turned out not bad.
